BTW, is the newspaper jpg showing up for you guys when you load the page, or do you have to click on the attachment? It was showing up for me at first, but not anymore...

I always write out my longer posts in notepad, saving regularly to a temporary desktop file, then copying and finalizing in the browser. It works well, as I haven't lost a post yet here.

I had one or two large story posts eaten by that so I took to composing my posts in gmail which autosaves.

For such a long and hard to put together posts, I have even better key combination - [windows key]+R->notepad->[enter]->[ctrl]+V

Yes, we the old school still like key combinations better than mouse clicking

Yep - I was doing that. But I had two Poly windows open on the same thread. One where I was cutting from and one where I was constructing my reply. I had just cut a short piece, and then dinner was ready - had some wine etc, came back, and closed the wrong window.

It was that damned French wine!!!

    That's it, I'm changing sides ...

Before you post, always "control-a" and "control-c", then everything is at least in your clipboard.
I control-a control-c all the time while writing posts and story. It's become a bit obsessive for me

Wow. Thanks guys. That's a first for France. I'm humbled.

(and Ottomans, you were right in your prediction of the results - congrats on both your prognostication and your vote score )

@ my last post - I spent an hour and ahalf last night pasting and cutting together a post, and trying to get my words just right, and I accidentally lost the whole thing.

Maybe the game godz were trying to tell me something.... "Keep, your mouth shut, King Phillipe."

But I will say that I for one did not find the back and forth debate tiresome. In fact, I think it is very healthy that we can debate stuff like this to the degree that we do, with no one going ballistic. That being said, Robert's call to wrap it up makes sense.
Thanks for the kind words and Congrats on the well deserved scores France.

As for the lost posts.. yea that happens to me constantly... I get all the pics and everything and then poof... one misclick and its all gone. Sometimes I redo it, but sometimes I just give up. It's really frustrating. Anyway, for the record, I gave Israel 5's for role playing even if they were enemies...

    Wonky....
It's amazing, that's exactly the perfect word to describe what's going on there!

    And it's been fixed now
    Thanks!

Oh, that hurts I know from my own bitter experience. These days I saw a plugin for Firefox, that promises to help you never lose any text you type in a text field again. I did not tried it, nor remember its name, but it sounded promising, you can find it and use it.
