I will play in about 1 hour (hopefully and then will pause.
In my defense, I can say the turn switched late yesterday night for me - well after midnight and I am still at work today.

I did not realize this or I would have tried to play before going to work. Vikings please pause, I will play as soon as I get home. Apologies to France.

Hey there are only 5 1/2 hours left on the turn and BOTH Russia and the DA still have to play before the French can play. You're starting to cut it kind of close here.

If you are pointing at the Turks attitude towards you, I can tell you that the original Ottoman player have never considered you a true friend. He came to me no less than 3 times trough the years after your joint operation against the French. And each time they came to me, they have feared from you for their lives and was asking, no - begging me for protection against you. I even felt a bit of disappointed as I was intending in the beginning to repeat the real history of wars between Christian Russia and Islamic Turkey. They told me you lied to them, they told me you are threatening them, they were afraid of you. I dont know for sure if this wasnt some kind of double-cross of them, but I can bet they never considered you real friend and they felt scared of you, because the Ottomans with the English were those who came to me asking for the E3 defensive pact to be signed. I accepted, because you were so close tied with the French (most surprisingly, as you just took their second and supposedly best city ever, but thats another story.)Originally posted by Germany (DoE) View Post

History is totally corrupted here but I have no time to argue...
V
Then when the new player for the Ottomans decided to honor his predictor's agreements and attacked France, it was you who loudly pretended to be Turkey's friend, but behind your back supplying France with ships and soldiers to cripple and decimate those same Ottomans, to whom you were in words so kind. Then you were the one who supplied cannons to their arch-enemy the Israelis to fight against them.
So, speaking of the current attitude of the Turks towards you, maybe it is only your understanding that the history is corrupted or not logical.
Yeah, nothing serious, it is only chatting, while waiting for your answer and the time to play my turn comes. Have in mind, that each nation can take or refuse the peace separately from the others. As you said a bit earlier, it makes no big sense and real feeling we to look at each-others as "blocks", as each one of us is playing on his own after all, exactly as each nation will look and decide for it's own fate in the real world.Last edited by Russia (DoE); June 16, 2011, 04:16.

Well, I was surprised that the Ottomans didn't saw it coming that Jerusalem was supposed to become the holy city of judaism, especially b/c of all the stories about the holy mount Moria and after all the diplo messages back and forth about why Jerusalem exactly had to be found on the mount moria
But I can totally understand that the Ottomans didn't want that city on my border
It was also supposed to become the holy city of christianity, after Jerusalem's razing I had to invent Bethlehem
I for the record had not the intention to follow Israel's real storyline. I had the intention to become big and powerful, and then I would start to try to stop all nations from spreading judaism or adopting it as a state religion. Trying to raze all cities in the end that would have jews in their population
That was my idea, a brand new interesting concept
But well, when my neighbors started 434BC, 67AD and 1939AD then there wasn't much of a choice left for me :P
And well, I wasn't very active in my attempts to get Jerusalem back, untill the Ottomans decided to park their entire army on my soil, not fearing me at all....!
Then I was inspired by how the Russians uber-backstabbed me in Dance of Civilizations! Then my entire army was as well on Russian soil, they declared war, catapulted the hell out of it and then destroyed the remainings....
stupid me forgot that the Russians didn't win that war in the end........ I'd pick my inspirations in a better way next time!

Well that's good...
I certainly feel vindicated by the previous Ottoman player. I can rest easy that I am maintaining some continuity.
And I agree that Israel/Egypt had a whole storyline planned out (ie mirror the RL historical Israeli people) that was kind of derailed... and the commitment to it despite the IG impossibility is at least partly at play in the most recent conflicts.
I kinda wish Israel had reinvented itself after losing Jerusalem instead of holding fast to the RL "in a mirror darkly" (a la star trek) version of Israel... certainly would have made life easier for Ottomans anyway
