In that case you would had to stop me somehow, I would be quite close to finish it by now. But no space ship, no one went for culture, no more danger of religious victory.. all that left are big wars.. hopefully some war will be without Egypt getting involved.. for a change

You have been very unlucky as the 1st war was just the largest power attacking you to wipe out it's largest rival. The 2nd was iffy in the extreme and badly calculated as to world opinion. The 3rd was 100% right and the entire world approved.

It is strange as to just how few wars there have been. Kahn and Lincoln had and early fight and an AI China was carved up. Sumeria has had another 3 but France gave up after Paris and Babylon was a 1 city dispute neither of which really count. Maya was a real war until close to the end when it was all over anyway.

Let's see what the UN does for the game!

World in danger! New wave of religious terror!

Breaking news: The Russian confoderation has fallen under Hinduistan influence and supported Hinduistan's world domination plans. We suspected this of course for some time, but it's still shocking. Their attempt failed only by a few votes again.. Egypt urges action!
We need to do something to solve this issue once and for all.
Our suggestions:
plan1: everyone agrees to raise hinduism in their cities wthin ten turns by 3 cities each
plan2: Egypt can volunteer to solve this problem peacefully by herself but needs funding to change to org religion and produce the necessary missionaries: 500 gold/nation
plan3: all put pressure on Babylon untill they research mass media or giving away 2 missionaries to each nations (except Russia ofc)-The pressure would be: closing borders, canceling trades..and..

a threat of military intervention..in the last resort.

We are waiting the answer of the (yet) free world.

Surely the quickest, and least painful, means of dealing with this issue is finding a nation with only one infected city - Rome has already identified herself as an ideal candidate. That city could simply be gifted to a friendly power and one of similar size and development given in return. This would need to be followed up by closing borders with Hindustan but will that really hurt any of us?

I believe this to be the only safe solution as if Russia is actively cooperating with Hindustan we could never keep up. Russia is possessed of the largest cities in the world and Hinduism would sweep through it like a plague!

Sumeria does not have a Hindu monastery and will not go through anarchy to produce a few missionaries. A charge of 500g each for Egypt to produce them is nonsense. I can build missionaries in 1 turn so I cannot believe the quoted price!

I believe my solution to be the easiest, quickest and surest method available.

OOC - I think that would be an exploit. When the idea of a DV first turned up long ago on here a number of people agreed it would be, since it is all about fiddling a game mechanic. And more to the point, the whole Hindu thing has been one of the main dynamics in foreign affairs for the last few centuries. Removing it by a fiddle would be a real shame. Spread hinduism, invade, conquer your enemies to race to another victory - all sorts of responses to this surprise move by Russia - but fiddle it would be a bit pathetic.

The Great Conclave looked shocked.

The Russian Hindus had always been a separate branch of Hinduism, following the Vaishnavi sect. But now this move to support Hinduism worldwide. If only the support had been given in the past! What a few Russian fighter planes or destroyers could have achieved in defending Hindustan against the Eygptian invaders.

The reason, it seemed, was that the Russian people had looked into the abyss and realised that the future of the world was either anihilation in the destruction of nuclear war, or the embrace of the gentle wisdom of Hinduism. Perhaps soon other nations would make the same choice.

But the calmer voices of the Great Conclave prevailed. It would be many years before any possibliity of a vote came again, and before then the Russian action was likely to cause a final war of destruction - perhaps the Egyptians would keep to to terms of the peace, perhaps issues could be resolved by discussion, but probably Hindustan was detined to be invaded once again. Another nation to be brought down into the pit of blood by the messianic warrior of the hindus, as Egypt was.

It was my request that it should be disabled because 90% of games, exclude DM's, end with it.

Trouble always is to try and create a balance between the great, the good and the inexperienced players so it is fun for everyone. SS victory is so predictable and is always just a race between the top few players. I wish I had requested culture as well but nobody seems to have gone for that so difference anyway.

Here everyone still has a chance, getting smaller for some, but it will take a big war to sort the wheat from the chaff! Once those big tank armies start rolling scores will start falling and gaps can close fast.

It's a shame we disabled SS Victory

OOC2: I'd also prefer it to keep banning nukes. It's interesting to see what happens with this game without all of us baking all of us.

Please send Hindu missionaries to my biggest cities (Cumae and Rome).
Their size is quite large and will have quite some impact on the voting, I guess.

ooc, my connection was fine, missed a turn, doesnt really matter, but it was just luck I haven't finished the Manhattan project, it's one turn from completion for a hundred years and was in the build list

I've agreed on no ss victory because as you say it's not that interesting: the civ who leads in science wins and it's the hardest to thwart by other players. (but not too hard actually)
By your logic we should only had left score victory in.. then better no victory at all.. because I don't think we would like to play till 2050
(but this is not for discussion for this game, maybe for the next)

The Grand Receiver of the Holy Shrine rubbed his hands in glee. The Egyptian inspired obsession with Hindusim had been pouring revenues into the shrine for centuries. Throughout their failed attempt to smash Hindustan despite their foul extermination of millions of innocent people in their death camps, meanwhile back in Egypt they were encouraging the spread of Hinduism, resulting in a steady increase in revenues.

He would have to start to recruit more shrine guides who knew Latin, to prepare for the forthcoming avalaunch of Roman wealth.
