I abandoned the game at the very begining because I felt at the time that the rules would cause me frustration, leading to me quitting latter in the game. I didn't do it to be spiteful, or try to cause a problem. In fact, I was trying to avoid a problem.

I'm not sure what you mean by "don't want to run the risk". Your the owner of this site. If I cause unjustified problems, just ban me. If I'm taking over for someone who dropped... then I drop... well nothing gained nothing lost. Saying you won't let me in just because I dropped out before the game even really started is just being vindictive IMO.

At any rate, I'm not going to beg. You know I am a solid and contributing diplogamer. If you want to make a point then go and make it. If you want a quality addition to the game in terms of content then give me a shot.

I don't think it's vindictive at all.

RP has done a tremendous job of getting the game up and going and maintaining it, why should he let back in the one person who quit and caused an inconvenience to us all?

This is just my opinion but I think we should all be allowed to vote whether or not Pin should be allowed in. Not to say I don't understand where RP is coming from but I'm I believer that everyone is deserving of a second chance. Just my opinion.

I don't think frequent changes would be good for the game, but maybe once, let's say in the 100th turn, where the No 1 civ changes with the last one and so on, this could probably make a more balanced game. But then ofc it would be much harder to play the game you wanted-like I have planned this whole religious madness from the begining

A question, Robert: is it possible to get some data/charts about how many times one's score droped? (for what ever reason, slavery, drafting, losing city etc). I would like to see a comparsion of these)

I'm working on a tool everyone can use to create it's own charts / tables.
That would show this info.

Right now I get it to work locally, but not if I put it on my server.
Something xhtml related, a security issue, I think.

Quaere: How often does an individual log in to take his/her turn in this game. Not talking what's the upper limit: what's the usual/expected norm?

once per turn... so turn timer 11 hours once every 11 hourse.

The generator is done, but unfortunately only accessable locally, meaning that I could present it to you so that you can all generate your own charts, but it's not working if you access that tool over the internet

There was a talk some days ago about that we shouldn't insist on these 1 on 1 free trades, because it doesnt really change anything except those who wake too late could find themselves without trade partners. This rule is in place to help closing the gap somehow not to make it a tech trade race at the end of an era. So why don't we allow truly free trades of these techs?

I was sorry when Pinchak dropped out at the start and think he adds a lot to a game. It's Robbo's game so I have to go with his decision even if I disagree.

On a very positive note - I reckon we have gone a very long way to exorcising the ghosts of BtP as not any, OOG, harsh words been exchanged. Even in the few rule arguments we have had it has all been very 'Civilised' and no accusations of malpractice or cheating have been made.

Really great to have you guys to play such a good natured and fun game with!

I exclude Persia, of course, as they are the true manifestation of evil, IG, on the face of the planet and must be destroyed! Kill a Persian - Win a Metro!
