I actually used the email BtP account to alert me of thread updates and PM's ... had it forwarded to my real address. Was very handy for that.

Oh, ok I was just asking. I do however agree with WarningU2 that forwarding it to regular mail seems usefull.


Also the chat function in gmail seems like a great way to conduct "live" meetings without the hassle of creating MSN/Skype accounts while retaining anonimity.

If you want live messaging why not just log in the game with whoever you want to talk to and use the messaging in the game?

This doesnt sound too good. Since we cant really kill each other I think the solution is that small civs ally and go hunt on the bigger ones. I hope ppl will want to keep the game interesting and we wont see the opposite (ie big civs ally and go enslave the small ones )

(BTW just a suggestion for the others: If you join a conversation pls use he same type of account as the previous posters. So if it started with a normal poly account then dont post with your DOC one.)

Am I the only one looking forward to the menance of the Sea Peoples? I mean seriusly... cramped civs should really think about cooperating to sack or conquer greater peoples on other continents.

A simple plan for three civs (so as to not overload their economy, doable with two):

-One builds ships & explores
-One spams their ancient UU
-One builds the remaining army

One of them gets writting (open borders) so gifting units is possible.

The beauty of this plan is that not one of the civs needs all the techs needed for an combined arms approach. They can also assemble an army of unmatched size by pooling their resources.

They can with a quick and early amphibious invasion pillage the country side and raze the cities of wealthy neighbouring states. Or even conquer an unprotected costal capital and force their people into thralldom.

Sure civs could have always done this even if they where on the same continent but they havent.


I think the reason is that if 3 civs decided on such an early war on the same contient it would probably inevitably help one of them out much more than the other two (since their target has to be close and the civ that would be next to the target would naturally benefit more from the war than the distant civ).

Now if the civ or the allies where far away... then why bother on normal speed? The invasion force would be obsolete by the time it arrived. Ships are pretty fast compared to infantry traveling on foot. A invasion of one neighbouring continent to another (not talking about Spartaesque long range invasions also their plan would have worked had they limited themselves and their allies to destroying cities) would be beautifull especially since people on the continent would distrust each other and may not even mount a common defense.

Because you can't do that from the library or work. Or while your wife/GF is home.

It would make espionage more important.

i couldnt find it tho, but found games where others used it. As i saw it doesnt hide the scores but actually changes the way how scores are given-everyone gets nothing

That can be very tricky when someone else is online as well. Plotting their downfall with your ally and sending out a broadcast message in error.

I don’t need a google account. I only use PM so the google would be a waist for me.
