Fellow Treaty signatories. Russia notes with deep concern that two vital elements of our Treaty have as yet to be honoured. These are essential for full settlement and put all our peaceful intent in grave jeopardy.

1. No Peace appears to have been agreed with Oldonia. This must be remedied immediately as they are now but one small nation facing grave odds.

2. The Japanese pledge to hand over its' Heavy Weoponry to Rome has not been honoured and represents a severe shreat to Piercian Liberty. With Open Borders across Piercia there is no excuse for this. Russia does not wish to have to send Armoured Units of her own all the way over to Piercia but will have to begain very soon.

Under Siege

After days of sieging, the Khmerian forces have been beaten back from the Portuguese colony on New Sparta. Unable to take the colony they are now retreating into Metalhead's territory.




The city was saved thanks to Portugal's supremacy in the skies over the town and the arrival of support from New Portugal.

Scandal Rocks the Government of Olaf Petterson

In shocking news from Oldonia, it has been revealed that a high-ranking member of Olaf Petterson's cabinet was engaged in the sale of weapons to the government of Japan-both before & during the nation's recent conflict. The scandal has spread throughout the government, with citizens now of the view that the entire war was concocted to enrich the coffers of the Ruling Class. After several days of riots, general strikes & even a revolt by the military, the King finally stepped in & sacked the entire government and held new elections. The newly elected government has run strongly on a platform of Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Association & the end to the increasingly disliked Caste System. Though popular, it is difficult to know how these changes will sit with members of the highly privileged-and secretive-Merchant & Warrior Castes, in the medium to long term.

The people of Oldonia have decided to sweep away the ultra-nationalist fervor whipped up by the former government for personal gain. They have instead embraced a more open & egalitarian approach to both domestic & foreign affairs. The Errikson government looks forward to working with all nations of good intent.

Announcement

We have experienced a longer anarchy than we expected, but the new Japanese Goverment in place, led by prime minister Tomonaga Shinichiro.
Finally we have managed to get the Oldonians to the table and let them sign the treaty so we can all enjoy eternal peace.
Our "heavy weponry" is on their way to roman land (They have reported to meet russian siege weapons coming to Piercia.. fortunately by now we are well aware that no matter how big force anyone has in the area its the romans who decides who lives and dies here.. maybe for the best.. So we continue to demilitarize Osaka and Owari... it will take some time.
We are very happy and gratefull to hear the russian announcement that they are willing to leave Alcetas and give it back to Japanese control. We ask however to do it sooner than later as the citizens of Alcetas are suffering of lack of food and we are unable to assist them untill we can get back full controll.

Today, the Celtic government has decided to give it's people a say in how the country is run. Beginning today, elections will be held for representatives to convene in the capital to discuss further improvements for the country and figure out new tax breaks for the people. All Celtic citizens wishing to become a representative must file an application in the nearest Celtic city.

Allies and Friends, even erstwhile foes, I wish you all a joyeous day of celebration upon the appointed day to remember the Great Saint, Righteous Father Botolph, Abbot of the Monastery of Ikanhoe.



This is a wonderful time for all Russians to meet and greet eachother and conjoin in impromptu street parties.



Though Russia has long been a secular state her people are devout in their worship and it has been their inner spiritual strength that has sustained them through many hard times.

Now that peace has returned to the continent I shall soon depart office and a new, freely elected, Premier will stand before you. I have declined all pleas that I should stand as I am no longer the youth that led Russia away from Despotism and had to guide her through two terrible Wars. I wish only the life of a humble soldier and nothing further to do with Government save to follow a true and just ones' call to duty.

I will make no comment upon the merits of the respective candidates, this is a matter for a free people to decide alone, but I am certain that both Pravda and Izvestia will keep the World informed.

As for my final acts as Chairman of the Council of Transition and Stability I have determined the following.

1. As offered, Russia will return the City of Alcetas to Japan. This is subject only to Japan acknowledging the full Terms and Conditions under which Russia took ownership, regarding free and safe passage for all her Merchant and Military Vessels, by The Treaty of Durango. Once public agreement to this is made transfer back to Japan will be immediate. Russia makes no demand upon Japan to formally recognise Federal governance of Free Piercia but merely accept it as an unstated fact.

2. There will be a referendum held in Free Piercia and ancient Mayan lands currently under Federal Rule as to their own destiny. Independence, Federation, Japanese or Mayan.

3. All Greek and Japanese Civilians interned during the War have now been released and their assets restored. All PoW's have been likewise released and free transit back to their homelands arranged.

4. Full and free Trade of goods and movement of civilians shall be restored. A good start has been made with the resumption of the Caribou Trade with Greece. Russia will listen to any and all reasonable offers and treat them no differently from any other.

I hope that I shall depart office in the Peace I have always desired rather than the Wars and Civil Strife that it has been my misfortune to have to have guided Russia through.

We don't really understand what you mean here.. the treaty of Durango includes those points and already been followed to the letter.

Neighbours, The agreement was signed by me as an undertaking of Russian commitments regarding Alcetas. I merely wish that Japan makes public statement that she will honour those self same commitments. Free passage through Alcetas for Russian Vessels is all that is asked - by definition this requires the maintainance of Open-Borders. Before I leave power, within a month now, I desire all loose ends tied up and that my successor should face no doubts as to his relations with Japan.

It is but one small sentance and will gain Japan the return of their ancient City of Alcetas. I believe this but a modest request. As stated before, no further comment upon any other areas of Russo-Japanese relations is asked.
