        • I, Yoshiro Nakamatsu on behalf of the Japanese Interin Government sign the treaty of Durango.

It was a hard, and I understand, an unpopular decision. Giving up old Japanese cities and our right for those we have lost before against greater powers. But it was necessary to save our nation from a bigger loss.

My honor would never allow me to betray a fellow countryman and let him trialed by a jury which fairness I doubt, but Sato Eisaku insisted that he doesn't want to stand in the way of peace in anyway and voluntary turn himself to the Roman court. This act just shows how true patriot He is. As I've heard soon he will hold a press conference in Owari then travel to Pierced Hill to give himself up.

The Spartan Empire is over, Japan is independent again! Are we more free now than before? perhaps, but many people did not understand that we never were actually "not-free", especially not slaves.
Let's hope for brighter future for Japan.

After signing this treaty my mandate is over. I announce that soon election will be held in which I don't intend to participate.

          • Dear Emperor Ozzy,

today we pass control of our holdings on New Sparta (what's with that name by the way... it should be something metallic by now) We hope you will find these lands as accomodating as we have. We would consider it an honor, if you were to consider naming one of your new cities "Tierra Santa" after a Spanish Metal Band, in memory of this historic event.

Regarding your Homeland Defense Treaty, we have refrained from responding to it, since you are in control of our foreign and military policies anyway. This does not mean we do not wholeheartedly support your initiative: we do.

After we settle the transfer business, I will continue to submit to your leadership.

                      • From: Chairman Vasili Mikhailovich Blokhin, Council of Transition and Stability
To: All Nations of the World

People of the World! Today the final agreement was reached for a Peace with Japan and Greece. The joy for the people of Sevastopol was unbounded and a fantastic celebration was organised by the Mayor and local Voluntary Organisations.

I truly hope that this is the end of all conflict for Russia and fulfilment of both my and the people’s dreams for the realisation a new and Democratic future! I am a simple soldier forced by a terrible attack upon the Russian Motherland to become an unwilling Head of State. When the Treaty is formally signed and ratified the, long overdue, full and free elections will be held. I shall not be standing as I wish to return to my life in the Army and forget about ‘Matter’s of State’.

In my final period of office I wish to set the ground work for a secure future for Russia. The dissolution of Pax Romana is a fantastic first step forward toward to Russia adopting a policy of strict neutrality in all International Conflict. As Russia’s first move toward a long-lasting Peace I wish, once full ratification has been completed, to offer Japan the return of Alcetas as Russia wishes no unjust profit from this terrible War. Alcetas is Japanese, given as a gift to them by Greece, and never any other nation’s property.

This does not diminish Russia’s gratitude toward her Roman, Wyandot and Oldonian Friends in their support for her in her hour of need! All it means is that Russia never wishes such a horror be unleashed again that should cross her borders. Never again must the conflicts of mighty Powers involve small and weak little Russia. She has no business in the arguments of the mighty!

                        Chairman Vasili Mikhailovich Blokhin
For, and on behalf of, The Russian Federation

                          General Sato has been assassinated!

We've just received news that Sato Eisaku has been shot dead at the press conference He was holding. He was taken to hospital but it was too late.
He was about to go to Pierced Hill after this conference and appear at the Roman court to clear his name from the charges of war crimes, but it seems it was against someones' interest..
                          ..
