I was in 1999. I think you must have the wrong U/N as Jon died tragically when he couldn't login and was canonised a year later. He does still exist on the Db but he has been dead for a very long time.

        • I won't be back till this evening, but I dunno why anything would be waiting on me. The result will pop up when it pops up. If anything we still need Greece to vote I believe.

          • Game's not over yet. I got the vote pop-up now.
            I voted for England, obviously.

I just did the silly calculation how much GPP/turn I get, it's about 850 8) (all cities)
Am I a great people addict or not?

So, what'll happen if Sparta after all transfers Samos to Japan? Then Sparta will not have a Rockin' city........ will the AP victory then be void?

            • I think it is too late. But boy am I glad that transfer didn't happen.

I brought over two missionaries in the last turn or two before the election was called just for insurance in case you lost that city, but they both failed! Since you said you sent two over yourself that failed, it means FOUR missionaries failed in Greece. Damn.

The ACTUAL question in this game is turning out to be: Who's Gods?

But since you never did give away your one Metal Church city, which would have killed the election, the gods very well may be on our side afterall.

                      • Exactly, if only the Greeks had obeyed the terms of the treaty of Durango, the world would have been saved from Metal.

                        • The world would have also been saved from Metal if the Portuguese, in their hatred for the Khmer, didn't capture Khmer's New Portugal cities and thus bring the religion into Portugal.

That does sound like divine intervention. Go Meduian!!!

I think I come out the best out of those three. Thanks Russia!

And to continue the honey-tongued epithet, there has only been one war in the whole of Roman history (the second Russia-Roman war back in last millenium) which wasn't either declared by Rome's enemies, or the response to the breaking of a treaty. You just need to be nice to me and all is sweetness and light - like the wynadot have found. So Rome has only the same 'invading your neighbours' credentials as the Metals themselves (who invaded Spain, far more recently). So why don't the gods like me? (And as for calling them the Metals - I have more metals that any other nation on earth).
