I seriously think we handled Pinchak all wrong guys.

Also my condoleances to HRE.
Strength and courage for the coming days and time!

By the way who wouldn't after losing more than 15 cities to his enemies.
Well, a very large bulk of that is original Korea, which he gained by ooc reasons recently.
But Pinchak earlier commented that he would continue to play.
I do not feel very good about the Mayan situation as well. (being ganged up by Sparta and Rome!) but the problem is that it's Mayan politics (and war moves) against the both of us that caused us to do so. I'm willing to renegotiate the return of perhaps Wonsan. I think that the rest of the cities I took was pretty much restrained (Korean garbage)
HUGE RL issues for me at mo

So, my current analysis after skimming the thread is that Sparta and Rome waged a war against an inactive human player. This should have been discussed 4/5 turns ago but I was not around to contribute or suggest (but I do keep an eye on civstats).
Basically the majority of players who are not happy with the way Pinchak has conducted himself (including me with reservations) can see that Sparta and Rome taking out Maya is an in-game way of evicting him from the game. Pinchak probably shot himself in the foot and is a sad loss to diplo.
Just play on I guess and make Maya AI at least so they can respond if we can't find a sub but this game is heading for another HOTW11/12 non ending I suspecxt...

No, Khmer. We did not wage a war against an inactive human player.
Maya attempted to invaded Sparta, who counter invaded, then a couple of turns later Rome invaded. Maya was still active and only missed the past 2 turns. (my war with him is going on for about 10 turns already and is more or less done already)
I have asked Mike to sub for the Maya.
Otherwise perhaps one of the other players (deity? ozzy?) may want to sub for Maya.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

thus he didn't play the last 2 turns. He missed a turn in between somewhere, but everybody misses a turn now and then. (ok, I don't, but most others do)
1768 has not been finished and is the turn in which we paused.
So effectively we played 2 turns against a player who wasn't playing. (without leaving a leave of absence).
On April 19th (1764) Maya said:
The only reason I even continue is to not to leave a power vacuum, which wouldn't be fair to other players. Don't expect to see any story posts from me or vote submissions.
Oh, that and I plan on keeping Greece and Rome in perpetual war till the end of the game. Better start trading for happy resources guys.
So it's not weird that Rome and Sparta continued their invasion because they had every reason to believe that Maya was continueinng this game.
After that he missed 2 turns and we paused the game.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

Yes, paused because there's no Mayan player while Maya is in a war.
We're looking for subs. Players who are in this game and not connected to Maya/Sparta or Rome are invited to sub!
Also still waiting for Pinchak to comment. After all we hope that he'll continue playing the Maya. Both Rome and Sparta have already said that they are ok with reloading 2 turns back (to give the Mayan player a change to play those two missed turns)Formerly known as "CyberShy"

It's irrelevant that the current turn is unfinished as Maya is obviously not playing.
And one does not just miss a turn during war.
Maya clearly missed one turn (1760) then maybe thought he better play one turn and have a go but in the face of such odds he seems to have gone 3 turns now; during which you guys hammered him and he lost Tikal amonst several other cities. Then the game is paused...Last edited by Guest; April 23, 2009, 07:18.

And that's why we paused the game, because we thought that this was not a good situation that Maya was about to miss it's 3rd turn in a row. (he didn't miss it yet because we paused the game)
And for the record, Maya did not leave because the odds he's facing. He left because he didn't got his way in the 'double move' dispute.
Anyway, I don't really understand your point, Khmer.
This game has been paused b/c of the absence of Maya, and Rome and Sparta already said they would agree with a reload 2 turns ago to give maya (or a sub) a change to play those missing turns.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

(out of turn order).
The turn order is: 1st Sparta, 2nd Maya.
So it went like:
1764: Sparta
_____Maya
1766: Sparta
_____Maya missed (1)
1768: Sparta
_____Maya missed (2)
1770: Sparta
_____[here we are now - game has been paused to avoid the loss of a 3rd Mayan turn]Formerly known as "CyberShy"
