To : Joseph Stalin of Russia
    From : Aun'O Es'Ther Per'Hyl of the Piercian Empire

    Russian,

Your troops have been eleminated before they could do any harm to my Empire. I won't hesitate to reiterate this if necessary.

6000 russian knights have fallen in the battle of Por'Per. A new Shas'O has been chosen. Shas'O Cor'Tez Wild Kho'Per will lead the Shas from now on.

This is your last chance to sign peace and to return to the negociations you pledge to be ready for. Be a man of your word for once and don't send any more troops to their certain death.

      From : Aun'O Es'Ther Per'Hyl of the Piercian Empire

      King of Sparta,

You are right, let's stay formal.

I will be able to ensure the safe sea-travel of any missionaries from your lands to mine. Just tell me when and where.

Regarding the anti-emancipation treaty, I will sign it as soon as the three cities that belong to my Empire have been returned to my control.

I fear that Rome would like to ignore any attempts of negociation but I am sure that your - appreciated - support will change their minds.

I have heard that the leader of the Portuguese is on a state-visit in Athens. May I ask you to inform him that I would like to speak with him in private, and that he will be welcome at my Palace in Pierced Hill whenever he may spare some time, please ? Once again, sea-travel can be arranged.

I am glad that the relations between our nations have not come to an end.

        Auno Esther Perhyl,

I have ceased any support to any peace treaty between Rome and Piercia, until both parties have come to an agreement.
I have signed a Korean agreement to patrol Piercia when peace has been settled, only if Piercia agrees with Spartan patrol of Piercian cities.
I will of course try to ask the Romans if they want to try another (or first) round of peace negotiations.

As a sign of goodwill I will inform Xristo about your wish to speak him.
I'll show him the way and urge him to visit you immediately on his way home from Athens.

I am glad to hear that you are willing to sign the anti-emancipation treaty.
I understand that you can't do this under the current circumstances of war.

          Emperor Augustus, dear friend,

May I ask you to try once again to create a formal peace treaty with the Piercians?
Maybe you can put your terms on the table, once again. Perhaps the terms you have offered in the past, or, if you want to, new terms.

I suggest that you and Perhyl meet face to face on neutral grounds.
You may want to visit Korea for that reason, since Korea has apparently been assigned by the Piercians to mediate peace.

If Korea is not suitable for you, Sparta is certainly willing to offer you a great negotiation atmosphere in the Castle of Thebes.

          Greetings,

          Orestes

Joseph Stalin, Greatest Leader of the Rus,

I have heard rumours that the Piercians have murdered Roman knights, attacking them unprovoked, without warning, while their leaders pretend to seek peace. However, the rumours themselves are clearly false, for 6000 Russian knights have never travelled west through Roman territory. But I fear perhaps that the substance that Piericans have once again displayed their bad faith and murdered in cold blood is true.

The terms of the Pax Romana are clear and Piercia has been repeatedly warned that attacks on you are attacks on me.

If you would like to confirm that:
            1. Your knights have been murdered.
            2. They had not themselves attacked any Piercian forces.

Then you are most entitled to call upon Roman armies to support you. That choice is up to you - you are a free nation. But Roman soliders would be proud to avenge their Russian allies.

            Augustus

Then a messenger arrived at the palace. He was just about to enter the palace, when Orestes called him: "I'm here, what is it that you want to tell me?"

"Xristo of Portugal has arrived at Athens".
"Give me you horse" Orestes said. He besieged the horse and immediately ride to Athens. In a few hours he arrived.
Xristo had been brought into one of the finest rooms of he Oxfort University.
Orestes entered the room... "Great and mighty friend, long have I desired to finally meet you!"

Both men stepped to each other and shaked hands very intense.

"Before I'll ask you for the reason of your arrival I must inform you about something Esther of Piercia asked me. She asked me to ask you to visit her on your way back to Portugal. I'll show you the best route to Piercia!
If you travel through the mountains near Sparta City, to the north, you can sail from Argos into the north-east. That'll bring you to Piercia. My sailors from Argos will obviously be willing to bring you to the other coast.

Now tell me about your journey, the political situation in Portugal, and the reason you have came to me. We'll dine at the 8th hour in the great hall of wisdom."

                Great King Orestes,

I have just read your message. Out of respect for you of course I would attempt once more to talk to the Piericans.

However, I have just heard that the Piericans had murdered many Russian knights. You, the Piercians and the whole world knows that I am bound to the Rus in the Pax Romana. It is not possible for me enter into peace negotiations with the Piercians while they are attacking, unprovoked my friends and allies. By doing so they display once again their untrustworthiness.

I am sure that you of all people understand that Rome is a nation of its word, and I must, and will, honour my well-known treaty with the Rus.

I hope that there has been a mistake and the Piercians have not again displayed their untrustworthiness, hate-filled actions, and their policy of sweet-talking about diplomacy on the one hand while preparing for war on the other.

                Sadly,

                Your friend Augustus

                  Greetings,

The russian knights my forces have crushed have entered my Empire by the North-West. Probably in order to remain hidden from your explorers in the region.

My forces did not leave piercian territory in this whole situation. They rightfully defended the city of Por'Per. This has nothing to do with our negociations.

Great Emperor Augustus of the Romans,

It is true. The Piercians have murdered my entire scouting group of knights.
Their number of 6000 is over the top. The unit consisted of 9 knights only.
I have received report that the Piercians have performed a full scale war on this scouting party.

These scouts were riding through Piercian lands for many period already.
The scouts were not a treat to any city. When the city of Porper was hardly defended, and even my few knights could've destroyed it completly, we stayed away from it. We restrained ourselves and did not invade the city.

No, instead of taking this city, we sent another message to the Piercians, asking them to make peace. They refused.

Then my scouts have ride into the open field, far from Porper. Undefended.
But the Piercians attacked my scouts with 6 catapults! All these catapults were destroyed during this attack. Then all armies that had just arrived at Propor left the city to battle with the scouts. The scouts died by doing what they can do best: fighting.

It is a shame that Piercia did not give the mercy to my scouts that my scouts have given to Propor. No, eventhough my scouts had not harmed Piercia in any way, no pillaging, no raping of women, nothing, just exploring, they have murdered all knights and their horses.

But Piercia did warn us before.
We were warned that Piercia would kill all of our soldiers on first sight.
First Piercia declared war, then it said it would kill all Russians straight away.
Never did the Piercians try any attempt tocreate peace.

My friend Augustus, I have sent my full army to Piercia, it'll arrive soon.
It'll be much bigger then the scouting party. You know the army, it's the army that once battled your armies.

You can ignore the pax romana or now and try to negotiate peace with the Piercians.
I will accept any peace proposal you can make.
I'll accept any peace proposal, till my army arrives. When it arrives it'll be too late, then I'll invade Piercia completely and let them pay for the scouting party of Propor.

                    Joseph Stalin

                          Aun'O Es'Ther Per'Hyl,

                          I dispair at you.

The whole world knows that you are a repeated Oath-Breaker. And yet now you go one step further and insult me suggesting I should join you in ignoring oaths.

You have just murdered many of my sworn allies. They were no threat to you. You declared war on them for no reason, have done nothing but spout hatred, lies and insults towards them, and now murder scouts who have caused no harm to Piercia.

and then you try to claim This has nothing to do with our negociations. !!!!!!!

Maybe oath-breaking dishonourable nations such as your own, negotiation peace while committing murder, or swear oaths of mutual protection and then while your allies are under attack sort out a nice little peace for yourself. But Rome does not. I warned you repeatedly, publicly, that any insult, hurt or attack on Russia was a hurt, insult and attack on Rome.

If Rome had embraced these evil emancipation ideas which you toy with, Piercian cities would be falling. The Roman Army to a man believes that you have slaughtered our Russian brothers and so deserve death. Your saviour is the great Russian Leader Joseph Stalin, who has asked me to stay my hand. You owe him your life.

Apologise to the Rus; pay compensation for the knights you have slaughtered, and we can talk.

Never doubt that Rome remains loyal to his friends, and dies for the sake of my sworn allies.

                          Augustus of Rome

                                Russian,

Despite my different point of view on the current situation, and you know what I am talking about, I have to agree with Augustus of Rome. Violence will always remain a reason for a diplomatic cooldown. This is not what we need here.

All both of us think that one still ows reparations to the other. Discussing who is right about it won't be productive at this moment.

For the sake of reason, I offer you conditionless and immediate peace. Any remaining rivalities between our people, and I am not denying there are some, should be solved otherwise.
