now portugal send workboat and need open border khmer to get spain. and big trade boost certain.

it is ganesh economic advisor say to experiment and close border with spain and see what change. such experiment not happen if spain more open to khmer. but it done now and they make diplomatic blunder you say.

if ganesh close border for spain it just a 10 cycle experiment unless negotiates are not easy. spain already offer new trade to khmer so ganesh understand change of heart.

but for now please understand need of experiment. it khmer style and hope it understood.

also other nation has huge minus of -44m gold. this nation as khmer economic understand goes should cancel open border to improve trade (need vet explain this?)
Don't forget that I have other sources of open borders on this continent. Inca was kind enough to allow me through there territory without any problems with them. It does seem to be that you are the only one complain about my decision to get the Great Lighthouse and then go and get trade routes from overseas and thus get a massive bonus as a result. I have said many times that you can do the same thing and it will be beneficial to everyone involve, since they will get more sources to get larger trades routes also. the more the merrier I say. Seek other friends from the other continent, which is what I have done and it has been a great success.

    • Re: Important Missive to the Maya

In hopes that the Mayans simply didn't see this message, rather than ignoring it outright, Korea again sends this missive...

      Hail Mel Gibson!

It is with great urgency that this letter, written in my own hand, reach your attention. I must admit, in all candor, that I am quite dismayed as to what has transpired in your nation as of late. I understand it is not my place to give opinions regarding the politics of a foreign land, however I must say that there are many pressing matters your regime has yet to address. The first is not as important as the second; firstly, my foreign minister Hae Mosu is en route to Tikal to meet with you concerning our relations. I can see how there may be some impasse reached; your former ruler was indeed married to my sister, and his son has my own blood flowing in his veins. However, we urge you to understand that Korea is not bound to Maya only through the bloodline of our leaders, but by mutual trust and admiration. We intend on maintaining our prior arrangements of trade and territory.

But that is why the second matter is most urgent. You see under your rule the Mayan military has been shirking its responsibilities to control the rise of new Aztec strongholds in the western portion of your territory. On two occasions newly refurbished Aztec warbands have acosted our copper mines, and have harassed our farmers near the territories of Pyongyang, Wonsan, and even our capital city of Seoul. While our armies were more than sufficient to destroy these raiders our scouts report that their origins are beyond the border in your territory. We note that you have failed to settle these lands and further have failed to police them properly. Moreover, we can not help but realize that while these raids occur and no reaction comes from the Mayans (leading us to believe that the Mayans have not been molested by these scoundrels).

What are we to think? Are you not of Aztec blood and heritage Mel Gibson? How is it that the mighty Mayan empire is unable to police their own territory? If the Mayans did not notice these Aztecs, clearly the Aztecs do not assault them! And that seems quite coincidental considering who sits upon the Mayan throne. Further the Aztecs appear to be safe behind the Mayan border, yet strike at Korea like the venemous snakes they are. These attacks are taking up vital Korean resources, which prevents us from other pressing matters of state. Our scouts also point out that these villains have control over a copper resource, permitting them to build armies capable of rapine destruction.

We do not intend on insulting you, King Mel Gibson. We simply point out a few facts to you, and ask that you do your Kingly duty and destroy these dogs at once!

Now, if you reject this, we will have no other choice but to cross the border with our own armies and occupy Aztec lands until you are capable of administrating and properly policing these people, however we are more than happy to help bolster the Mayan army for this purpose (if that is the reason for your inaction) and hope that we can cooperate on crushing this Aztec threat once again. My minister Hae Mosu, as I have stated previously, will soon be in your capital to discuss this matter with you personally. However we would appreciate a expedient and thurough response.

      We await your reply.

      • As the crowd rolls with joy at the marvel of these tidings, the figure of Tribune Hieronymus climbs back to the doors of the Temple of Mars, the Temple of War. A hush falls as he pauses, a long figure dwarfed by the huge marble doors. The he slams them slut with a resounding clang. "I bring peace the People of Rome" he shouts as the crowd descends into frenzied celebrations, which continued for days ...
The news of peace, security and new trade opportunities spead like wild-fire through the Roman Republic. Everywhere the people rejoiced that the gods had poured out such blessing on the people of Rome. Even the generals of the massed ever-victorious armies of Rome seemed relieved to be able to call at least pause in their campaigning.

Meanwhile the Senate marvelled at the news pressing daily at their deliberations. The tax receipts were beyond expectations, the provinces proclaimed new buildings commissioned year by year, the great desert lands were blooming, scholarship flourished once more.

Tribune Hieronymus watched quietly with satisfaction. His network of 'people's tribunes' across the land growing in power and importance. Soon, they would have their hands on almost all levers of power. Meanwhile he smiled as the people whispered of the new goldern age of Rome. A goldern age, indeed, the gods be praised.

khmer friendly side says agree with spain but what tension. not all can trust as friend in real world.

it true that if all nation open border to a nation that has explored vast region geographically it benefit that nation hugely but NOT necesarily the nations that have not explored far.

here reminder of our long ago talks:

also ganesh praise izzy for smart international trade strategy but question if it good for all trading partner.

            • Japanese forces waited outside of the Takeda strong hold. Oldinian forces to the east surrounded the city. There was no where to go for the Takeda soon they would die and Japan would have sent a powerful message to Shingen Takeda. Since the Oldonians were already their the Inperial Japanese forces decided to just watch as Oldonian forces swept through the well defended Takeda strong hold. A good show to watch as the men looked on to the fighting that would happen on Ansuji. To the east the messanger group traveled they spotted a barbarian war ship off the coast of the Gateway city From the looks of it the ship was prepairing to drop troops off and attack any near by ships.

                Sejong,

You and your men are always welcome in Maya.

What happened to your daughters husband was unfortunate. I assure you all prior deals between Maya and Korea will be upheld.

I am of Aztec blood, however our tribes are pretty much independent, and I feel no loyalty to the western tribes. We noticed they rebuilt an old city. This will be taken care of. Feel free to contribute troops to the cause.

                  • Our findings from the Osaka and Manila ruins confirm that another force was helping the Takeda barbarians and other barbarian groups all around this continent. We have yet to figure out who it is though. But I do not see why the Mayan would kill our leader for we have not done anything to them nor have we even officially met. If we do find out they were at all involved on we will kill them without mercy or restraint. Let us all hope for their sake they had nothing to do with the attacks on Manila and Osaka.

                    • For many years Japan’s daimyo fought each other for
control of the land. With the bulk of the imperial army
being sent to Ansuji the Imperial court could do nothing.
The only thing they could think of was bringing Itoku to
Kyoto to take the throne and appoint a new shogun
from the former shogun’s bloodline. There were
problems with their plans that they could not predict.
For example Itoku, unlike the emperors before him, was
weak and the former shogun’s only living relative was,
Yoshiaki Ashikaga, was a fool who used his brother’s
good name to gain power. Never the less the Imperial
court went through with their plan.

At the same time they were doing this, the country had
already been divided by the most powerful daimyo and
1 weaker daimyo that only had a small part. The Uesugi
clan controlled the north, the Takeda controlled the
south, Asakura had the west, the combined forces of
Asai and Mori had the east, the Miyoshi and Satomi had
the center, and in the small province of Owari the Oda
clan gained more power. For the most part Yoshiaki was
able to weasel his way into getting all the daimyo to get
on his side by catering to their ambitions. All of them
were easily swayed, all except for one. The Oda were a
proud clan and their leader only wanted a unified Japan.
The Emperor mean while was only emperor by name.
His power was gone and all he did was perform
                      ceremonial duties.

Meanwhile on the Oldonian peninsula Hanzo had taken
full command of the Imperial forces. They continued to
wait for the Oldonian troops to attack the Takeda
strong hold yet they did nothing. The city was well
defended and more troops were needed before Hanzo
could attack. Yet he ordered none to be dispatched. He
wanted to see the great Oldonian’s power for himself.
He had heard they were powerful fighters and he was
curious to see their legendary power first hand.

I'm sorry but 2 on 3 is not my kind of fight. I'll wait for my second group to swing by before I move. But feel free to weaken them and I'll finnish the job.

                          • so you dont plan on weakening them for me ?

hmmmmm. two swordsmen versus a babr city. your sword will kill two archers easily. leaving jsut one for me to destroy ..

jsut speak up if you not interested in helping me, i only sent my troop down there casue you said you would help.

you said your goal was only to get the gold from the city which i have promsied to give you and also take screen cap showing amount of gold to give.

i see no reason to destroy this city other than you are attempting to stop my growth onto this south west peninsula. last we spoke you said you had no goals of mainland expansion after i gave you the whole of Yellocacia with all its uranium storage.

again just speak the truth of you plans and goals dont need to hide things. but dont waste my time either.

I dont have the troops to goto war over this sort of crap so just tell me your plans and i can give you what you want no need to try to use stories to say one thing and do another.

Certainly no need for you to send more troops to my mainland if your goal is simply to remove the barbs and gt the gold.

again state your plans please. if it is as already stated then please destroy two archers ion the city i will kill the last one.

if you after more than what already stated then do it, as i can not stop you, my civ is not capable of preventing any nation from taking my expansion room.

Just please stop posting you there to do one thing and then do another.

                            • I'm not sure if you looked but I have killed one and weakened another but not before they killed my already weakened swordsmen which is why I wanted to wait. Never the less either ths turn or next the city will fall. I do require half of the gold you get from the city after that do with it as you wish. As for my plans that will have to wait. For now just finish the job so I can move to my next target.
