HOTWXII Testing and Organisational thread

If that's the case I think we should try and add at least an hour to this session. The one problem I see with this is the European time slot, which appears to have an hour-early start at around (on average) 5-6 am, which is not a really fun time to play civilization. I'd rather stay up late than play early. So, basically we've got to decide whether or not we are really going to try and do this, and I suggest we decide sooner rather than later.

So we should do a quick vote, if you can play an hour earlier this session vote 1, if you CAN NOT vote 2.

There may be those who CAN but would RATHER not, in that case vote 2. Just to keep it simple.

This way we can decide easier, if you ABSOLUTELY can not play an hour earlier under any circumstance please say so, that way we can quickly get through this.

(a mid-way solution might be the best. move the game 30 minutes ahead, that would be 5.30 in europe. and play for only 1 1/2 or 2 hours. that way I think everything works in everyone's best interest.)

Ok so I and France had a test today. I hosted he joined and we played 30 turns saving in between (every 10 turns)and reloaded the game after that. We had no problems!!

Carpathia we found out that France was the reason for our problems last week, that's why the test. The goal was to test with France and not the whole group. A bigger test sounds reasonable of course. Friday is a no go for me sorry. But that doesn't matter because i'm not the problem.

Friday night US or Euro? In any case I wholeheartedly agree, there is a world of difference between 2 and 6 or 9 players. And further more I'd like to do if all possible a test with all players that way we could use the HOTW12 save Mongolia posted.

WTF!? Why should I explain myself to well… myself?

Diety I understand your concern, that is why I think we should really do more tests, one with everyone if that could work! A test takes what, 15 min if it works?


I also would like to say I’m sorry I didn’t do some explaining earlier, the thing is I’m not very well versed with technical stuff, so this is a bit of a learning experience for me.

Now as far as I can tell the problem is with (what was it 2056?) the proper port not being forwarded to my civ PC. I guess a few configuration changes where made probably because of a VOIP phone my parents installed during the week (when I’m usually not home), they didn’t bother to tell me I guess the ISP guy must have changed a few settings, well I’ve tweaked some and for two players at least It seems to work like a charm.
