just thought I'd add that we managed to get the game off, almost without a hitch. we played the first 1000 years and the map is interesting. the only slight killjoy was Kuno's connection issues. hopefully it can be sorted out within a week and the game speed will pick up.

of course its probably a good thing that we didnt play too much. dont want our absent friends to have too much to deal with when they finally get the reins of power.

But ****, this is gonna be damn fun. I've never been in any civ game with this many people before. And for it to be a diplogame in addition.... whew. Lets just hope people show up in the future and Kuno fixes his darn connection.

It will be unlikely we'll have everyone for each game, so we'll definitely need subs.

DD, you are at the top of our list for possible subs. Even if you get home an hour after we start, 1 hour of AI and 2 hours of sub is preferable to 3 hours of AI i'm sure.

I d/l the save and it's a shame I missed the first session but appreciate it was short so I think I'm happy to play on with England!

this game is a disaster! I cant stop thinking about it

so exciting. who will settle where. what will be the main focus of next session. how will the balance of power turn out between india, france, germany and america all crammed into one tiny corner (called europe?) how will the diplomacy part turn out. will alliances emerge? will there be... WAR?

only killjoys are kuno's connection, poor fellah, and omnitrouts increasingly diseased comp. though they both have a full workweek to fix it. may the spirits of civ be with them.

Hey guys, I'm not sure whether or not you got the news but I sent an AIM to Deity before the session. My friend was rushed to the hospital the day of the session at around 1 pm, he had a serious ailment and didn't realize it and nearly died. He did however fall into a coma.

I don't know exactly what happened on Friday because I was with him in the whole day and had to work on Saturday. He has since been moved and I went there too. Its pretty bad.

So needless to say I understand if you all started the session without me. I expected it to work on Friday. Another issue is that my birthday is coming up this Friday and I, again, may not be able to make it. My girlfriend would **** herself if I told her I was playing civilization instead of going out with her (the whole day) even though its MY birthday! (yes we've already had an argument over it).

So, I may be able to play but it doesn't seem very likely for this next week. I am okay with a sub or even AI so long as nobody totally screws Spain over.

And again, if I am not invovled or the game dissolved I understand as well. I have a class right now though, so I'm going to leave. But I'll talk to you guys later, hopefully things aren't as bad as I think they are.
