Umm, not to get on post but... Has anyone heard anything new?

Being in IT I can appreciate not wanting to make promises you can't keep, but "One of these days" is NOT an acceptable release date.

The answer to peoples over-expectations is not to stop informing them, it's to educate them. Give us a run-down of the process and be honest and up front.

I would much rather they come out and say "We are in QA and expected it to take two weeks but it's going to take four" than just leave me sit here wondering if there is, in fact, a real patch coming at all.

      I'm not upset
(and I hope I don't come across that way) I'm just baffeled as to why a company would prefer to keep their customer in the dark regarding it's intenions.

As long as Firaxis won't have us telling you the goal date, or tell it themselves, I'm afraid it's nothing new that can be revealed.

Well, again, they did say a couple of weeks ago tat the patch is held hostage at 2K QA. If they said nothing since then, it probably means there's not much to say.

I´m sure that we´ll hear about the patch the minute it gets released. Honestly I don´t know why people don´t get that?

I get it... I just don't appreciate it.

I'd rather be treated as an adult who understands that sometimes things don't go as planned rather than a child who will throw a temper tantrum if I don't get my way.

Most of us are grown-ups, we can understand that situations change. And I guess I'm more irritated at the jerks that act like 2K OWES us a patch.

If they weren't so demanding 2k might trust us with a little more knowledge.

              Oh well.

AFAIK 2K has never shown any interest in relating to the fans, unlike Firaxis (who has several staff members regged here and at CFC). So I´m not at all surprised we don´t get a runthrough of how QA works at 2K.

We´ll just have to be patient, no need to get agitated.

I am probably an exception but I don't need a patch. The game is working like it should. I almost never use amphibious assault so the graphical bug some people encounter doesn't bother me.

I am not sure that I will install any new patch.I'd rather have them work on the expansion instead of trying to make a game that is 99.5% correct to 99,7%

That's no reason not to install the patch nonetheless. I didn't need any patch either, it worked for me out of the box, but 1.52 featured several AI improvements and much better performance. The third patch also has something, so then why not install?

Nothing to get excited about, you could make your own speeds anyway in 5 minutes .

Sure, but it's better to have something official, instead of everybody playing their own speed setting

It's better to make the game how you want it with regards to speed and such, and not a give a damn about how anyone else plays .

Except it's much easier to let Firaxis do all the work than trying to get everything balanced yourself.

Indeed. Also, I have no idea how one make a speed good and balanced and such. Any tips on how making marathon better for instance Solver? If it's any reason to tweak it, I have no idea.
