Yeah, most likely. But still - from my viewpoint (and experience playing other games, particulatly ones of the MMORPG variety...) it's far better to delay a patch even after it's announced than to go ahead and just release it with bugs in it anyway, that's even worse...

I'd rather just seem them take their time and get it right

the problem is, at least as far as i know, is that the patch may not actually be having 'work' done to it. it was sent to the developer several weeks ago for approval & apparently, for at least some of the time, it was put on the backburner due to 'prioritising'.
it has been in 2k's hands for quite a while now. wished they would get their act together.

But "falling for it" is the point of Aprils fool joke.

Also readmes are usually done last in development.

Well, if the last patch would've been released a few weeks ago I wouldn't have had a problem with it, but considering the sensitivity of this issue for many people I didn't think that would be a great idea right now (and I'm not alone in that, I consulted the owners of the site on this and their rule is law )

That wasn't there initially, I added it. Later it was decided that wasn't enough so the whole thread was deleted.

Beside the patch and the announced Xpansion Pack, is there any remote chance that the SDK will bring the possibility to add tons of usable AI/human extra units or at least a few dozens ?

                      Thanks

Well, IIRC they said (before Civ IV was released) that with the SDK, Civ IV could be turned into a shooter... if you're good enough. So I believe changing the AI, and add a few units to the game should be possible
This space is empty... or is it?

You can already add as many units as you want, but if you want to add special abilities or AI routines that aren't currently possible, yes, the SDK will allow you to do that... IF you know how to program C++ (or know someone who does and who wants to help you), which is not for the faint-of-heart.

Many people underestimate what you can do without the SDK. You can now indeed add as many units as you want, new civs, new buildings, that stuff. Of course, for units with currently non-existient abilities (nuclear subs) you'd need the SDK to add the relevant AI code. The SDK would also allow you to do stuff such as adding new traits, for example.

But there's the big consideration of C++. If you know C++, you'll be able to start tweaking things in no time. If you don't know C++, well, the SDK would be largely useless to you.

Depends. I have learned a little during my year at "folkehøgskole"(you as a Swede perhaps know what that is at least), but only the bare neccessities. I'm a novice and has perhaps not all it takes for programming though, so it might be easier than I think.
