  • Unique Buildings!

Unique buildings per civ is a cool idea. Since we've got a while to wait for news on them all, lets guess!

I could be wrong, but I figure they will be national wonders, not just regular buildings. That seems to make the most sense.

EDIT: I am wrong - they are regular buildings...

    So... guesses?

    Arabia -
    Egypt -
    Germany - Assembly Plant
    Russia -
    Spain - Citadel
    England - Stock Exchange
    France - Salon
    Rome - Forum
    China -
    India -
    Persia -
    Mongolia -
    Inca -
    Aztecs - Sacrificial Altar
    Americans - Mall
    Mali -
    Greeks - Odeon
    Japan -

    Korea -
    Carthage -

Germany will probably have the 'Auschwitz' building which automatically removes Judaism from the city it's built in.

Japan will probably have a suicide-bomber instruction camp, which produces the 'kamikaze' unit - this is able to destroy the American unique building called 'Pearl Harbor'.

Rome will have a 'lion's den' which enables you to feed Christians to the lions.

      France - Maginot Line?

Yeah that 'wonder' worked out so well for them.

Rome-Forum, Emporers Palace, Temple of Juno or something like that?

Actually, it probably would have been good, but when Belgum went neutral in the 30's, that left a huge hole in their defense, and with the economic problems France had at the time with the great depression and all they simply couldn't afford the vast expense of expanding it. So the Germans could just go right around it. But I don't think that was an inevitable result, just the way things happened to go.

              Notre Dome perhaps?

Germany's could be Neuschwanstein Castle? - Better then the other suggestion at any rate.

I would rather see each civ get an actual unique building, instead of just another national wonder. That would be harder to balance, of course, but much cooler.

WWII Would have been the end of the Fortress age anyways...

(shrug) Well, German tanks would have had a hard time getting through the huge well-defended concrete walls and deep trenches and such; at the very least, it would have made the lightning-fast blitzcrieg attacks that won Germany the war in France impossible. Granted that german bombers would have eventually opened up holes in the maginot line, it would still have been slow going. I still think that if Germany had been forced to go straight through it, it would have slowed them down and bled them off so much that they never would have taken France out of the war.

Notre Dame of course is already a world wonder. I'll add Neuschwanstein Castle to the list.

I forgot. Been awhile since I played Civ IV. Michelangelo Chapel and Bach's Cathedreal - too many years of it being them for me I suppose.
