        • AND:

I had to get up at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down at the mill and pay the mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our mother and father would kill us and dance on our graves singing Halleluja.

          • But when you try to tell the young people about this today, they don´t belive you.

Anyhow, if this should turn out to be true, I'm glad it's past.

The Dutch were the Colonization powerhouses- with a stable economy, you could buy all the specialists/ships/weapons you needed...

Ah. I just remember seeing them starting on all the fiddly islands and often had the most aggressive natives to deal with, ISTR. Now I really want to dig it out - and an old PC to play it on I expect.

Your mum is very generous with her attic-space, then.

I had to throw out all my ZX81, Spectrum, Oric, Sharp MZ80K, Atari ST stuff long ago.
