The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

cIV is out. People have a taste of it. What would you like to see in ciV - that's Civilization 5.
I would like a real 3 D globe.

I would like them to use a real server-based multiplayer platform, similar to battle.net from Blizzard. Battle.net actually WORKS from a connectivity perspective, and is one of the big reasons why Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft III are so popular and are still being heavily played to this day.
Lamespy is a copout and will never work properly with the 5000+ different firewall configurations we are using. The choice of Lamespy as the multiplayer vehicle is one of the very few disappointments I have about Civ 4.

I want to be able to play as the Arabs and have my own harem of concubines. If needs be I should be allowed to send my armies abroad to find some nice blonde ones.
Differnt kinds of combat. Right now it's about nothing but conventional combat which differes greatly from how the world is right now.
I'm talking how the US uses conventional and then there's the "terrorist" kind. Gurrilla (sp?) warfare needs to make it in too.
It would matter how you manage your nation. For instance it might be hard to use non-conventional warfare if you're not the underdog. Blablabla...

Here, here! Hooray for MasterDave! Very good point.
Battle.net is pretty robust. No question about it.
has anyone ever played The Third World War?
I played it on the sega cd, and it has fond memories, but until I can recall it correctly I can't say it should be the model.
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.
Pick two traits from a list, and then pick some starting techs from a list. Finally, make up a list of city names.
Make it so that you can save the civ and play it over and over again.

You can't do that in 4 with all the modding they bragged about?

I should be able to do that without messing with the XML files and such.
