Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Installed 1.09 yesterday and so far, so good. No major issues. There is late-game slow-down, but that's been there from the start. My comp isn't going to win any contests.
The opening movie sort of works, but is noisy, and the now the Wonder movies are choppy with sound and video like the opening movie use to be with sound.
speaking of swahili: in my latest (aztec) game, i somehow have the feeling that was swahili, although i don't know much swahili and even less azteccian
- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity
- Atheism is a nonprophet organization.
My game seems to have slowed down (noticeably) with the patch.
Also, has anyone else tried looking at a map with y-axis > 130? When you go to the global (zoom out) everything turns black. ---this is with or without the patch.

I'm not the most computer savvy person but can a lot of these problems be linked to your system's RAM?
I'm sorry but I don't think sabrewolf's grasp of swahili has anything to with his RAM.
"See what I did there? ... That's funny to me."
Yes, quite a few of these issues could be low memory problems. However, last night I played for half an hour, maybe 100 turns or so, and when I quit the Taks manager had Civ taking up 360Meg of memory. That doesn't seem right to me.
my wonder movies pre-patch used to stutter every two seconds. now they just freeze up a couple of seconds in. i can still continue playing the game however.

I've got XPPro and I thought "Why not turn on the System Monitor and record how the game goes?" This will give me tons of info and I won't have to keep alt-tabbing back and forth to get it! I'm brilliant!
So, I start all the monitors and run the game...
...two hours later the game alarm goes off to tell me to go to bed. I take a look and the System Monitor is so full of data it's impossible to read. It's just a line graph going up and down like a bad sound file.
You can snail mail everything back to Take2 along with proof of purchase and include a letter saying you have carefully read and DO NOT agree with the license agreement. (Trust me, If you actaully read the thing you will come up with about 100 reasons to object to it.) They will take the game back and eventually send you a check for your purchase price. The address is in the text of the license agreement or on their web site.
Thx for the tip greggbert.. Did'nt think of that. I wonder if 2k will refound my expenses for posting the game to the US
Well I bought 1gb extra lately. It helps out the wost problems where the system locks up completely, but still no wonder movies for me hehe.
I wonder what kind of system I need to play, say a little chess game from 2k.
Like 10gb ram, 1000 gb hd, 5 cpu's hehe and a black hole as energy source or what
The good thing about these problems is, that it's just a (great) game after all
So am I the only person who has noticed absolutely zero improvement in performance, stability, and memory usage even after applying the patch? If anything, it crashes more often now.
I'd say that this is the last game I'll ever buy from Firaxis, but since they don't technically exist anymore, that's not exactly an enlightening statement.
BTW, the patch did help some people. There was a poll somewhere in this forum asking that question. A sizeable percentage report having better performance after the patch. I would be one of those people. I'm not getting the CTD problem anymore. Wonder movies are fine.

I really can't see any peformance improvements too.
- "Speed up load times" - Have a feeling that the game itself loads a little faster thou. But to load a savegame still takes forever (huge map).
- "Global performance enhancements" Well who can tell?!? Its like saying something and nothing at the same time. What could it be. Could it be the military advisor nope, tab'ing from windows back to the game again nope.

Strange where is this poll you talk about? The only 1.9 patch poll I can find has 5 votes and gets a 1.2 out of 5. Dont think thats is a very big score.
Now that i've installed the patch, I can't start the game. Computer locks up...get a littel dialog box that says Error: smoenthing...can't find the Civ sourse or something like that.
Anyone else having this problem AND found a fix for it?
