Which civs/leaders should be in the expansion?

German - Adolf Hitler Agg/Cre (sid was a %^$#@ not to include him) Special unit: "V1" a pre rocket era weapon

Japan - Nobunaga Agg/Spi Special unit: "Banzai infantry" altered infantry +/+ first strike vs any infantry unit

USSR - Lenin Org/Ind Special unit: "sniper infantry" (altered reg. infanty) +/+ whatever vs regular infantry unit

as stated above Churchill something with Spitfire's ??

Lincoln horse artillery ??

Vikings yeah! raiders/swordmen ??

How has Argentina been historically significant? I mean, sure, it's better off than Nicuaragua, but so is say, Canada. Mali was a great center of learning and trade before the discovery of the New World eroded its share of the gold market. The Aztecs and Incas had their own distinct cultures and mighty empires; in fact the aztecs were comparable to a middling European power and would have easily driven off Cortez if they hadn't pissed the other tribes off enough to unite them against them. Does Argentina have a distinct culture? Don't say yes; we all know it is, regardless of fripperies, an offshoot of Spanish culture, just as the US is an offshoot of English culture. The difference is we've done something!

And before you call me an 'AI', remember that I can at least spell 'pathetic'. And we've still got the nukes.

you've seem to be right. Right out of your mind you dont your blabing things you don't even know. For a very long time, even still today, most European immigrants came to Argentina to study and live thanks to the countries wealth. Argentina does have a very distince culture to how thing speak spanish to food to traditions it is the most "European" country of the Americas. Of course with a twist because of the many of ethic groups there are in the country. Argentine traditions and food tend to be a mix of mostly of German, Spanish, Italian, English and Scotish. I would check your sources and not judge countries you know very little about you are giving all us Americans a BAD name.

This was EXACTLY what I was thinking. But still, I think there are more worthy civs. You have to remember that if we include civilisations, rather than *peoples*, the Hebrews have not been very significant at all. As a people, Jews have had some impact on history, and if Civ was a game about "peoples" rather than "civilisations", they would have a stronger reason to get in. As it stands, however, we have to disregard about 2000 years of the history of Jews because they have not had what we would call a 'nation' since Biblical times until 1948, when Israel was established. Taking this into account, it would simply be inaccurate to put them in, because as a "civilisation" Jews have not had a very great direct impact on the world. The Hebrews of old were at their greatest for the span of 2 kings, David and Solomon. After that? The entire country broke in half. In modern times, Israel is the regional power in the Middle East, a country filled with corrupt dictatorships. Granted this is pretty good for such a small country, but in the end it isn't surprising given how wasteful and idiotic Israel's neighbours have been towards their own people. In any case I've rambled on about this far too much.

I never said Argentina was cultureless; I meant the at its ROOTS it was Spanish. I'm really sick of this. Please give a coherent argument on why Argentina should be included that does not involve "Civ X is totally unworthy!" or "Hobelhouse is a moron!"

Depends on who you ask, and when, hurr hurr hurr, but I suppose the main reason we're (scandinavians) not in the game is because although we've all had our Great Days of Yore, we've never really been world powers in the same way as most others. Or we're just too modest.

Even the Vikings were never a single nation or tribe, they were just several different tribes of norsemen who kept mostly to their own villages and towns, and did stuff together - the odd hobby conquering and pillaging and so forth, much like some of us enjoy model aircraft in our own spare time.

One of the largest Scandinavian empires might have been the Scanian empire, but it was probably not very cohesive or united, more like a loose gathering of baronies... errr, or barbarian villages, if you like. A few hundred years later, the Danish and Swedish empires were occasionally spread over large parts of current Poland, Germany, Russia and Norway, but ... well, we're not a very nationalistic people, so we sort of play that part down a little. For example, you'd rarely hear a Swede admit that our king Charles XII was one of the first in a long line of losers who ever attempted a land war against Russia.


Does he belong in a Civ IV Expansion? Probably not. Napoleon represents that cadre of fellows rather well, I think.
