    I'd say 100%. ICS just won't work.

"PART" of the box! Besides, I'm more interested in having a great game that I then need to eat some cardboard over rather than having another Civ game bomb!

Hey, on this point, I think the committee to decide this should be:

      Vel
      Hex
      Korn

You, Solver, have to be left out! Tell you what, though, I'll let you decide in case of a tie.

so all you'll need is a decent xml editor
That's not what I meant. Suppose I have ModA which adds the Taj Mahal as a Wonder. Then I also have ModB which changes the Indian Unique Unit to be the War Elephant. Now let's say I want to play a game that has both the Taj Mahal and the War Elephant. Do I need to (basically) copy the file (or file part) from ModA that defines the Taj Mahal and the file (or file part) from ModB that adds the War Elephant into a separate ModC directory? Or is there some way I can say in a game creation screen "Use content/rules/whatever from ModA AND ModB" without needing to create a mod (even a copy 'n' paste one) at all?

no you need to place the files you want in a new dir under \Mods

How would I buy a beta? As Nikolai said, the game is nearly finished and I am not worried about minor bugs but CTD bugs.

Really great news about the load mod option.

But you can specify a default mod to always load, if you prefer so.

That is unpossible to do. Many mods are mutually exclusive and they all change much of the same stuff. What's worse, any semblance of gamebalance is completely lost when you do something like this. I've played dozens of modded games, and I've only ever seen this in action once (in Freelancer), it was fan-made and worked absolutely ****e (and not because of lack of skill by the creator). Of course, most Freelancer mods are crappy and unbalanced anyway so not that it matters there

You don't buy 'em, you get suckered into them (speaking from extensive experience here)

As Nikolai said, the game is nearly finished and I am not worried about minor bugs but CTD bugs.
Those are usually the last to get fixed. Why do you think they occur so often in unpatched games? (or actually, )

Depends. I like to exploit games, perhaps you don't. However, I have full faith in that committee!
