  • Listen, I would (and just did) pay good money to get a Vel review.

    • i'm speechless.

both a good and a bad thing just happened

the good thing is that yin just exploded our fund coverage to 88%
he practically payed for this own copy!
our goal has been met, i only wonder if we could go for the idea solver just pmed me : the "get yin a webcam" (expansion) fund (yin says he only has a High8 camera )

my only problem is to find a electronics e-store that will ship to taiwan (and accept an order from a greek visa at the same time )

the bad thing is that yin got himself one of our new 4-years subscriptions so he'll be around for a long time in order to get his money worth

          • Markos:

This was really a no-brainer for me. Poly has been a great escape for me so many years, and things like The List and all the great people I've met here are well worth the 4 year subscription. Of course, I didn't even cover the cost of my copy of the game, so it's still safe to say I'm a cheap bastard.

I just remembered I have a good video camera at work. So no need for a Web camera. If I end up eating some of this box, I want it to be professional quality! It will help in the lawsuit, too: "Your honor, the evil that is Apolyton clearly drove my client to this madness that maimed him. Exhibit A -- This disgusting video..."

Also, I left Seoul, Korea a few years ago. I'm near New York City now...don't know if this will help or hurt the shipping costs. Long live this craziness called Poly...

            • Jeje:

Wow. I actually got embarrased reading that. I'm not quite sure what to say except: Thank You. I know that I drive people crazy sometimes, but long-time friends like you and Darkstar (and others) know what it means to be "Yinned":

A bunch of negative (sometimes even justified!) energy that slowly but surely finds its way in to something positive and, I hope, entertaining. I'm not the best Civ player by far, but I enjoy these charades at Poly and respect a whole list of you guys.

Anyway, I hate soppy speeches. I need something more negative....so, Jeje: I want a divorce!

Alright, now, we all know I don't actually think I'll need to eat ANYTHING as a result of this bet, let alone what appears to be the holder used for Starbucks Coffee.

                Besides, I'm a 4'6" woman...

                  eeer wow

we can actually call the fund fully covered now as we can use amazon's free shipping offer.

as soon as i have yin and vel's addresses we'll be doing the pre-orders. a report from the final expenses will be posted here. any remaining budget will go towards a post-release prize-including feature we are planning (and we're not saying anything else)

                  many thanks to everyone!

Yes I do - I just assumed that you can understand what I mean...

After got Civ2 didn't play Civ1 anymore, until I had found Civ3 to be not good.

To be honest at that time I started one max two games of Civ1 - also tested a little civ1 multiplayer (solo), but several games og Civ2 I have palyed after getting Civ 3.

After RoN appeared I have played very little of Civ3 - well this summer tried a couple of games of C3C after friend loaned his copy for a while. Still same problems with Civ3 exist.

                      So does this clarify?

for someone that would normally wait for the "gold" version to hit the bargain bins that's a big step
