I say Nubians + Pagoda wonder= more bonuses*5

Nubians has more bonuses than just their national bonuses. If you get resources that give you say 10+ food and 15% cheaper infantry, you have double of that. Now thats even better than any other nations bonuses.

And their archers has two funtions; counter against heavy infantry and other archers.

I skip from Germans to Egyptians to Nubians to Russians to Romans and that wonderful 'random' option when I cant decide!

After I'm almost through with the game (I seem to always win in conquest games on toughest against the AI and I can't play online since I have no inet at home), yesterday I tried the aztecs and I must say they are very strong. I started my attack in classic and I was swimming in ressources. I didn't upgrade commerce past lvl 3, and even this was too much. All killed enemy units give 60 ressources (30 in classic, but that's still alot) and you always get the ressource you need most. So immediately after I reached industrial and oil came into the game I killed an enemy army and got 2000 oil from them. The only things limiting your advance are Population limit (build the colossus) and knowledge (I build an university in every city I take and get up knowledge production to 999 as fast as possible.

Although only 2 people voted for the aztecs: they are very strong rushers.

No single favourite, but I find myself using the Russians, Romans, Egyptians, Chinese and Incas a hell of a lot more than the others.

I've only played twice so far and so far both the french and egyptians have rocked.

The Germans are definately the best suited for my style of play. They can mass produce Tiger Tanks and MG42s incredibly easily, which is one of the many benefits of their insane infrastructure bonuses.

well one should play each civ at least twice on each level

this way a player gets know all the good benefits from each civ , and bien sure , also the less postive points , .....

I like the russians because of their attritionThis slows an early rush and i hate those so mutch i don't want anybody messing with me in the beginning,i like to build first and attack later. So i specialise in defense (especialy static defenses). Also i mostly finish the game in the later ages so the shock infatery, T80 and Katyusha come's in handy and of course the oil gathering bonus. In the erly game the cossacks are alway's good for bugging your opponents . For a build-up game i might also take the germans because your alway's a step ahead of your enemies and they have a nice spread of ther special units. For the world map canpaing the aztecs are good because when your in a defense game you wont have mutch ime for building and gathering resources sow you get them by killing witch is the essential part of that map. (you'll probably find a lot of spellingmistakes. Don't let it get to you )
