I wonder if IG feels like QS is trying to get away with shoddy work. Get the job done and run away. I wonder if QS feels like IG is being too hard to please...

I think game companies should keep their mouths shut, period, until the gone gold announcement. Can you imagine walking into Wally world one day and seeing MoO III just sitting there on a shelf with no prior knowledge, I know that would require a tall change of underwear on my part."How can you shoot women and children?"

Talking about the game while it is in development is free advertising for the product. Of course the Publisher is going to want as much as it can get, and no doubt it does the Developer some good too. Even where it is a running joke - Duke Nukem Forever under development - the publicity is still maintaining "brand awareness" when its not particularly positive. The only publicity they really don't want is that the game is too buggy to be playable, which in this case they are going to great pains to avoid. To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

I don't mind a missed date or two. What I do mind is seven or eight missed dates then an information blackout because they can't understand why everyone is so angry at the reissued release dates. It almost seems to be a marketing ploy, i.e. begin generating word-of-mouth and excitement then string it along until product is delivered. I've been selling this game to my friends since July; it feels so dirty to be a corporate pawn.

I like competition. There's 5 or 6 civs in GC, 6 if I remember correctly. 16 in MoO3. I know, I know, a great game isn't recognized by the "numbers" involved, just name Starcraft. We'll see....
