  • Ah, and both are better on the PC version anyway.

You wont regret it: the 360 is the pinnacle of gaming at the moment. And you have a good PC to play games in genres that work better on that platform. Job done.

You should start a 360 games for Snoopy thread.

      • Nah, I probably won't play that many, actually. I don't have all that much time for gaming... I barely touch my Wii anymore, and it's not for lack of games quality [inserted in case Asher comes back] ... it's simply because I don't have time. I love MLB2008 but I just don't have time to play it; my limited time I put into Civ occasionally, and one RPG or actiony game (Mass Effect presently, just finished the BDtS DLC with a newish character, which was decent if short).

        I'll probably get:
        RB2
eventually RB1 and possibly some GHs [Can you get the RB1 tracklist w/o buying RB1?]
(maybe) Madden 2009 or 2010 or NHL 2009 or FIFA 2009, depending on various things [I liked FIFA2009 when I played it on GF's nephew's christmas gift, it had a great career mode, far better than the PC game; does NHL2009 also have a great career mode I wonder? The PC version was absolute ****e, or whatever they say in Canada.]
Braid (I have to try it)
... and nothing else, at least for the moment. I might rent Mirror's Edge or Prince of Persia or whatnot, if I can find a decent rental service (doubt I'd use Gamefly enough to justify it, certainly don't use netflix enough to justify it, but maybe I'll change my mind there). I basically need for my gaming enjoyment 1 sports game at any given time to take away my appetite for sports games,

        • what are the chances of me turning my roland electronic kit into a rock band/GH4.5672 kit?

          • IIRC the GHWT drums has a midi port that WILL work with electric drums, while the RB2 does not; that's just random remembering based on a ton of reviews read late last night though, so take it with a grain of salt.

You sure named a lots of games for someone who isn't going to get many.

On your RB question you can buy RB1 and play it for achievements etc, but you can also import the tracklist so that you can play it in RB2 as well, rather than have to switch disks.

              • But you still have to buy RB separately, as opposed to just buying the songs [for cheaper]. Though I suppose the total number of songs is big enough that at $0.99 a song you get more than you'd pay for separately.

                • Game and console obtained... Circuit City, 10% off X360, 20% off RB2 full kit ($140) and 20% off GHWT w/guitar only (like $60 or something?). Sweet deal. Up until... what is it, 3am? ... playing w/the GF. I've pretty much nailed medium (basically never under 90%, even on ****ing bon jovi) but probably won't move up to Hard until the GF can move safely into medium - she is about 70/30 at medium (if we pick random songs instead of easy ones, she'll die at least once in 30% of the sets). Need to learn how to take advantage of Overdrive or whatever. (Also, need to learn how to open up songs for general sets - thought the Tour would do that, but haven't seen any new songs opened up yet. Maybe I should read them manual ... nah, too easy.)

Buying RB1 is much cheaper than DLC. And there are some pretty good songs.

                      • Hmm.

Well, the in-laws ended up getting my kids Guitar Hero World Tour, and GH:legends of rock for Christmas.

Thinking was, since the PS3 is upstairs, and we have a toddler, it's much easier to put 2 guitars away than a guitar and drum set.

While the kids have hammered through the games since Christmas, I sat down with WT for the first time last night.

While the guitars APPEAR nearly identical, for whatever reason, the one that came with World Tour does not cramp up my hand nearly as much. But, it's motion sensor is less reliable, and has a button to initiate the star power. So, I found myself hitting the button instead.

I am confused on some things, though.

Some notes would be rather transparent, and had purple lines connecting them. What's that all about? Also kept getting some errors when a purplish (I'm colorblind, so it was purplish to ME) bar came up across the whole board instead of a note. Didn't know what to do on those either.

Other than that, Medium was easy enough, able to put a finger on 4 buttons and hit the notes fine. Hard, with that 5th button, still proves difficult.

The boys want the drums and mic now. I'm still hesitant on drums...

                        • The transparent orbs with lines mean you're supposed to use the slider (but don't have to).

The orbs that glow white mean they're for hammer-ons and pull-offs.

Yeah it is tricky at first, but keep persevering. A lot of people don't have the skill for hard even then though, so don't feel like it's just you. The people on my 360 friend's list are god awful at GH games.

                              Pull-offs?

My 6 year old stickerified the slider....

What about the BAR things. A whole, I guess 'fret' is the best term is lit up purplish, but no specific orb.

My kids were saying to strum while hitting any button, but that wasn't working. Niether was my attempt to hit all buttons at once. Only saw it on one or two songs.
