Rock Band 2 and GH: World Tour

RB Guitar is easier than GH guitar across all of the games. This is about how the songs are charted rather than the instruments though.

Some people think the RB drums are harder - again a charting issue.

Personally I'd get RB2, as from the reviews it's a bit more polished (remember WT is the first GH game with vocals and drums).

And once you've got the kit, getting the other game makes sense no matter what you decide.

Had to send my XBox in for repairs (it'll suddenly go to all static on screen and sound with multiple games), so I've had to cut back on my RB2. (Fallout 3 is helping.)

Had a rather disconcerting experience. I brought the unmarked box the repair center sent me in to the UPS store to ship it in for repairs, and the lady at the counter said, "This is an XBox, right? We see these all the time!"

Yeah, those Xbox coffins are iconic in their own right due to the RROD fiasco.

I still have 2, just incase. I've had a total of 5.

I've had to send it in once since getting it over 2 years ago now, but I got it back within 3 days. Considering I dont play every day, I was very pleased.

If you got it 18 months ago it's not one of the defective models.

They aren't as bad as the release ones sure, but I think the failure rate is still pretty high for my cohort. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyhoose, I've never played Phoenix Wright - Phoenix Nights is more me - and I am mindblowingly awful at Guitar Hero. I can sing along, but my sense of rhythm with any instrument is laughable. Certainly made my mates laugh.

No doubt Singles album is excellent.

Anyone thinking about getting RB2 though should be aware that the drum set is really no better than the RB1 set --

also the kick pedal still breaks, just in a different spot -- not mid pedal but near the hinge at the heel.

My set has both of these issues.

I bought the Ion Drum Rocker -- it seems much more robust (which it darn well should be for 300 bucks) althought the pedal they shipped me had a bad internal connection straight out of the box ( it kept disconnecting during play) and I had to ship it back, at my own cost, for repair. So, be aware of that. In retrospect, I should have just told them that the set they shipped me was entirely missing the kick pedal -- that may have gotten around the shipping charge.

Hmm, the RB1 kit is coming down in price (well for PS3 at least, with 360 soon to follow I'm sure) here, so if it the new kit genuinely isn't any better it could be worth a punt.

But most reviews/sites seems to be suggesting the RB2 equipment is more reliable generally. Do you think your experiences are reflected more widely, or did you just get a bad break?
