I might get Wii Music on Gamefly to try it out. I'm a fan of Rock Band and Guitar Hero. I've heard conflicting reviews of Wii Music and I'll give it a whirl myself to see how it goes.

You said Wii Music is a sign that consumers have seen through the Wii ____ fraud. Some other people have said its simply that Wii Music wasn't as good an offering as Wii Sports or Wii Fit.

Okay, by that logic, Wii Sports Resort should also fail, like Wii Music did. More or less.

Tis true, it could do well if the year is poor. But IIUC it will be out in 2009, for which there are a number of games coming out on the 360 and PS3 that are expected to do well.

Whats the level of success? I don't know, thats what I'm trying to get out of you, a forecast of the extent of Wii Sports Resorts' failure. If you want to make it conditional ("this applies only if at least X games for the 360 get metacritic scores of at least Y") thats fine.

I just want to pin it down a bit.

The problem is the people who buy the Wii and then continue to buy the Wii ______ brand are undeniably the most easily entertained, least discerning, most stupid people on the face of our Godless planet. It's ridiculous to try to predict their purchasing patterns.

If people enjoy the vacuous gameplay of Wii Sports and Wii Fit, why would they not enjoy the vacuous gameplay of Wii Music? Even Nintendo doesn't know.

No one knows. I'm not going to make a prediction, but I'm hoping people have seen through the schtick of Nintendo's lame excuses for video games and stop buying them.

But it wouldn't surprise me if the same stupid people bent over and spread 'em for more. Some people just like it like that.

All of the "Wii" games involve people making stupid motions with their hands/body and then VERY VERY loosely relating this to what is happening on-screen in increasingly abstract ways. It boggles the mind why someone sees this and is willing to plop down lots of money to play the thing.
