Match 6: Round 1


Another damned day of announcing, the announcer thought.
"The fight for first will take place first today!" (The crowd cheered)The announcer was pleased with his cleverness, it took him all morning to come up with that.
"After two disappointing matches to start the competition, Spacius has come back with three wins and two knockouts!" (polite applause rang out)
"His opponent, however, is dastardly with his rapier and a tough nut to crack!" (The crowd murmured disapprovingly) Uh-Oh, I'm losing them, better end it.
"Anyways, let the fight begin! Enter Spacius Maximus and The Doctor!"

[b]Spacius Maximus vs. The Doctor[/b]

Spacius struck first with a mighty blow, but The Doctor blocked it with his rapier.([b]1:Miss![/b]) The Doctor counterattacked hitting Spacius in the upper body.([b]1:Hit!(17)[/b]) Maximus next swing hit The Doctor below the armpit, ripping into flesh and bone! ([b]2:Hit!(50)[/b]) But The Doctor is not foiled easily and he struck back with a vengeance.([b]2:Hit!(40)[/b]) Spacius was stunned and didn't attack again, ([b]3:Miss![/b]) but The Doctor did not pass on the opportunity and hit Spacius again. ([b]3:Hit!(17)[/b])

[b]Spacius Maximus: 26 HP The Doctor: 50 HP[/b]

Half the crowd cheered while the other half became sullen. Spacius had won the hearts (and credits) of many on the rig but it seemed that defeat was closing in.

[b]Ludd vs. Snoopy[/b]

Ludd, as usual, decided to let his opponent make the first move.([b]1:Miss![/b]) Snoopy did not disappoint, and attacked. His blow was solid but futile, bouncing off Ludd's plate mail. ([b]1:Miss![/b]) Ludd then charged Snoopy and collided successfully, throwing Snoopy to the ground. ([b]2:Hit!(8)[/b]) Snoopy got up quickly and struck again, but it glanced off. ([b]2:Miss![/b]) Neither attacked again and the round ended.([b]3:Miss![/b]) ([b]3:Miss![/b])

[b]Ludd: 100 HP  Snoopy: 92 HP[/b]

Most of the crowd booed as the gladiators left the ring, another boring match with Ludd. They were very pleased when The Doctor cut him apart in match 5 and were hoping Snoopy would knock him out of the semi-finals.

[b]Theben vs. Grumpius Trollium II[/b]

Theben landed a blow with his sword on Grumpius' right forearm leaving a nasty laceration.([b]1:Hit!(26)[/b]) Grumpius swung his tri-staff around and managed to catch Theben in the legs. ([b]1:Hit!(8)[/b]) Theben backed away to catch his breath, ([b]2:Miss![/b]) but Grumpius stormed forward thrashing his stick and struck Theben in the chest.([b]2:Hit!(29)[/b]) Theben managed to keep his balance, and slashed Grumpius across the abdomen.([b]3:Hit!(26)[/b]) Grumpius was not threw though, and managed one more hit.([b]3:Hit!(8)[/b])

So what's the plan if Felch doesn't show? I'm willing to accept a 1 pt. forfeit but even that could decide who goes to the semis.

Why would you get a forfeit.

It's a real pain in the ass when people drop in Gladiators because there are rarely entirely fair solutions. But since Felch has lost every game IIRC we could just remove him.

Did anyone KO him?
