Match 4: Round 2


The Doctor had regained the confidence of some of the fans by pointing out the role fate played in match 3's lose, but the favorite to win was now THeben. Some even pointed out to The Doctor that his lackluster defense in the first round of match 3 was to blame for his loss. The Doctor threatened to stab any such naysayers.

[b]Felchum vs. The Doctor[/b]

Felchum's first attack scratched The Doctor on the arm.([b]1:Hit!(4)[/b]) The Doctor responded by stabbing Felchum through his bowels.([b]1:Hit!(30)[/b]) Felchum screamed in pain and backed away.([b]2:Miss![/b]) The Doctor responded by stabbing Ferchum in the foot.([b]2:Hit!(4)[/b]) But suddenly Felchum regained his composure and struck The Doctor in the stomach!([b]3:Hit!(34)[/b]) The Doctor was unmoved and hit Felchum again. ([b]3:Hit!(17)[/b])

No one has managed to penetrate Ludd's armor as of yet(match 5 has not started), would Theben be the first? The wagerers seemed to think so.....

Theben attacked Ludd three times, but all his blows bounced off Ludd's armor.([b]1,2,3:Miss![/b]) Ludd charged Theben after THeben's 2nd failed attack. He collided with Theben knocking him flat.([b]2:Hit!(9)[/b]) Thats all Ludd needed, the match was his.([b]1,3:Miss![/b])

Grumpius was drugged up and ready to go. Most of the crowd cheered as he entered, hoping for an upset. They knew if Spacius won he would be back in the running to qualify for the semis, ruining those who already placed bets on the eventual winners.

Grumpius was confident, he won his last match and was ahead in HP. He attacked first, but his mace bounced off Spacius' shield without causing any damage.([b]1:Miss![/b])Spacius did not strike,([b]1:Miss![/b]) letting Grumpius attack again. Grumpius did not miss, landing a blow with his mace onto Spacius' side.([b]2:Hit!(21)[/b]) But as Grumpius' momentum caused him to lean forward, Spacius hit him in the head with his shield, knocking Grumpius out cold.([b]2:Hit!(40)[/b])

Match 5: Round 2


The free booze event ended that night, but no one complained. In fact most of the roustabouts were still asleep at the start of the first match fighting their hangovers. The Doctor was ready, however, and entered the ring in a state of martial calm.

[b]The Doctor vs. Ludd[/b]

Neither gladiator attacked at first.([b]1:Miss![/b])([b]1:Tie!(0)[/b]) Then The Doctor ran forward and stabbed Ludd at the waist were his platemail jointed with the steel leggings and angled his sword upwards, penetrating deeply into blubber.([b]2:Hit!(18)[/b]) Ludd screamed and stormed around the ring in anger and fright; The Doctor kept his distance.([b]2:Tie!(0)[/b]) When Ludd got close, The Doctor struck in the same spot again inflicting even more damage!([b]3:Hit!(24)[/b]) Ludd flailed his arms wildly and by chance hit The Doctor, knocking him over.([b]3:Hit!(8)[/b]) But it was too late, The Doctor was the clear victor and Ludd's aura of invincibility vanished.

Many of the Roustabouts reached their perches on the derrick as the results were announced, annoyed that they had missed the fall of Ludd.

[b]Felchum vs. Spacius Maximus[/b]

Spacius had a huge lead coming into this round and knew that if he got a KO he would take over the top spot in the standings. Felchum, however, seemed to blossom in his underdog role and was ready to fight. He did nothing, however, in the first segment([b]1:Miss![/b]) and set Spacius nick him on the leg.([b]1:Hit!(1)[/b]) But he came back swinging and struck Spacius in the neck, just missing the carotid artery!([b]2:Hit!(21)[/b]) Spacius struck back quickly and hit Felchum in the thigh.([b]2:Hit!(17)[/b]) But then Felchum struck with all his might and landed the biggest blow of the tournament! ([b]3:Hit!(41)[/b]) Somehow, Spacius kept his composure and stabbed Felchum in the ribs,([b]3:Hit!(20)[/b]) and Felchum fainted from blood loss.

The crowd cheered Felchum as he was carried out of the ring, acknowledging his effort.

The next match was critical to the two gladiators fighting. The winner would be remain stay in the semi-final bracket while the loser would fall to 5th place and would face elimination in the next two rounds. The spectators wondered if the addled-brained Snoopy was the real deal or if experience would win the day.

[b]Theben vs. Snoopy[/b]

Theben's first attack missed as Snoopy dodged out of the way.([b]1:Miss![/b]) Snoopy stabbed quickly and his silver dagger turned red.([b]1:Hit!(26)[/b]) But Theben struck back with fine hit! ([b]2:Hit!(25)[/b]) Snoopy thrust his dagger into Theben's leg, spraying the arena with blood.([b]2:Hit!(26)[/b]) Theben, however, managed to strike Snoopy in the back leaving a deep laceration. ([b]3:Hit!(19)[/b]) Snoopy didn't have the energy to strike again and the match ended.([b]3:Miss![/b])

Yes, I am aware that he has a bye this round. Which also brings up a point I forgot to mention before: we should've fought 1,2 then 3,4 and finally 5,6,7. That still leaves open the possibility for anyone to get in, only knowing 4 results- espec if max # of byes is already done. As it currently stands there is no way for Felchum to make the finals even if he beats me.
