Try listening to Queen when you play Fallout 3. It's osimosity unbound. I swear Freddie Mercury foresaw the release of this game. (No mean feat given that he didn't live to see the first Fallout game. That means he's even more awesome than we originally credited.)

I like how Frosty inadvertently changed his argument from PC games are better *head in sand* to PCs make it easier to pirate your games.

And of course the sensible people among us have both a PC so we can laugh at silly posts a la Frosty, and a 360 so we can play genres that are better on consoles. Some would call this having the best of all worlds.

And if you're very cash constrained the 360 is hard to overlook given you can get one for £100 now.

Frosty's entire argument was that PC's are better for gaming because they enable theft. Color me unimpressed.

PCs > console in games where the mouse is important (FPSes, RTSes) and where there's lots of commands to give out (Civ-style TBSes, certain flight sims).

Console > PCs in pretty much most other ways. Not least of which is the guarantee against obsolescence for at least three to five years.

Ummmm, consoles and PCs have about the same obsolescence period (3 to 5 years). I built my current PC for around $1000 in 2005 (three years ago) and it plays current games at near-highest settings. The only thing I've upgraded was the video card ($60) and that was only because I made a poor decision with my video card at the time- the current card isn't really that much better, it's just PS3.0 compatible while the old card wasn't.

I probably will be able to play games on console-equivalent settings for another 2 to 3 years, before I have to upgrade. I will probably upgrade in the next year or two, because I want to, but I certainly don't have to.

You're one of the lucky ones then. My brother custom made his own PC in late 2006 and it is not very good for playing current gen games. It will install them and load them, but graphical quality is low and framerates are worse than on the XBox.

That having been said, Bioshock looked worse but played better on the PC, in my experience. Not least because of the Almighty Mouse*.

It's 47. It's just the size and the shadows that make him look like he has hair. I took a screenshot a while back right after I got Blood Money, and cropped it down to make the avatar. Here's the original:

DrSpike, i've got a 360, that's how I know what it's like to own one.

I put together my computer 2 years ago, still runs games better than the 360. Long before XBox 720 comes out, PC's will have made the 360 look like the Wii.

The PC is a better machine for so many reasons. It just does more, and better, the power is in your hands. Asher is like a Mac user, blind to the truth because he's an Xbox fan. When the dust settles, Asher can go and sit with Agathon and cry together.
