A lot of people are having problems running the game right now, both on XP and Vista.

One of the problems has to do with the game conflicting with Norton AntiVirus. Unfortunately, just turning it off doesn't solve the problem since there are multiple problems.

AVG should classify Norton as a virus, and if detected, puts it in the Annoying and Useless Vault.

Yay, buggy. Hopefully by the time Amazon gets me my copy (Today or tomorrow?) it will have a patch out

Yay, I'll keep my Xbox 360 version then.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

I remember when some people here were telling people to wait for the PC version to have all of the bugs ironed out and improvements. Suck it down, *****es.

Well, they added a few video cards to the not supported list, so that ends some of the problems.

Mine is not on there yet however, but basically they are saying some people just won't have luck.

What video cards are they not supporting? (IE, is it certain 'older' video cards, or pre-SM3.0 cards, or are there quirky ones that are newer?)

                    7300, 7600 GS, and 8500

I have a 7600 but not a 7600 GS so it technically should work.

One of the solutions involves going into process manager to do something to disable sound, which is ridiculous. This solution does not work for everyone though.

It is pretty obvious that Bioware did not put anywhere near the effort into Mass Effect for the PC compared to the KOTORs.

Wow, those are quite recent cards... not exactly top of the line but certainly good enough they should be supported.

8800 GT now too. It isn't that it is not supported, just that they are admitting to issues with that specific card and they have no idea what the deal is.

Interesting. 8800GT is most certainly a good card, and a popular one, so this will be a problem for them... and i'm rather surprised none of their test machines had it.

nVidia does have periodically driver related problems, and it could well be their 'fault' (not properly implementing something), but still... wow!

I'd still expect they will fix this. It's not a problem with the cards themselves obviously, it's a problem with either the drivers (less likely) or coding in the game itself (more likely), so it can be fixed. Of course, it could be that not all of these cards are having problems but just a percentage of them, which is how it gets past QA. Much like Civ4's launch problems with ATI really.

ME for PC currently has a metacritic score of 93, and several of the reviews seem to mention positively the interface changes for the PC, and the graphics on the PC.
