No, you have to wait for the mafia to actually kill someone first!

    (Ideally not me)

(Oh, well that's me dead first yet again then isn't it? Booger)

The Adventure of the Missing Three Quarter

"To the man who loves art for its own sake," remarked Sherlock Holmes, tossing aside the advertisement sheet of the Daily Telegraph, "it is frequently in its least important and lowliest manifestations that the keenest pleasure is to be derived. It is pleasant to me to observe, Watson, that you have so far grasped this truth that in these little records of our cases which you have been good enough to draw up, and, I am bound to say, occasionally to embellish, you have given prominence not so much to the many causes celebres and sensational trials in which I have figured but rather to those incidents which may have been trivial in themselves, but which have given room for those faculties of deduction and of logical synthesis which I have made my special province."

And so it was that I was Watson, to this gallant troupe of Sherlock Holmes’s.

Once we were all convened in Baker Street, we set out on a brief tour of Holmes’ London.

Our first stop was Camden House (an Empty House), across from our rooms. This was a new location to many of the cast, Cook, O’Toole, Richardson and Massey to name but some. Then it was a stroll through Hyde Park, retracing the steps in the adventure of the Red Headed League. Frewer and Wontner, especially, enjoyed that new location to them.. As we made our way towards the Strand, via Cavendish Square, to our hotel, Brook, Stephens and Barrymore, stopped to look at a clothes shop that featured traditional clothing such as Deerstalker caps, cloaks, capes, fedoras and trench coats. Rathbone and Gillette said they knew the shop well. ‘Darlings we’ve all shopped there’ said the others.

In time we reached The Alpha Inn. Cushing and Brett were eager to register, while Wilmer and Rowe were happy to sit in the lounge for a while. Before everyone departed to their rooms, I announced, ‘Please, would everyone meet in the lobby before 20.00. Also note we have exclusive use of the hotel tonight.

Clive Brook came over and asked what I thought of the detection skills of the assorted Sherlocks.
‘Excellent ‘ I cried. ‘Elementary’, said he. And he left to go upstairs.

Upstairs in their apartments, the stars unpacked their suitcases each of which contained amongst normal wear, their various bits and pieces of Holmesian lore and stage craft: cloaks, pipes, magnifying glass, phials, pistols, and violin to name but a few items.

Close to dinner time I was the first down in the hotel lobby waiting for the Apolyton Irregulars to appear. I was enjoying the playing of the hotel jazz band, which Had been there when we arrived. About ten past eight I did a quick headcount. We were all present bar one. It was then we heard a terrific screech that reverberated through the hotel lobby. Our eyes looked towards the lifts, the arrow pointed to the sign of four, nearly. We rushed to the other lift.

The stuck elevator was caught between the 3rd and 4th floor. We forced the door open and saw Clive Brook lying awkwardly on the floor, dead.

A small thorn lay on the floor beside him and there was a distinct cut on the nape of his neck.

Immediately the Irregulars recognized this as a classic Holmesian style murder. The finger pointed to one of them.

I called the police. They took Clive Brook’s body away and put cause of death down to cardiac arrest. But our Irregulars decided they knew different: that it was one of them who had committed a murder. They agreed to listen to evidence and take a vote.

Just then I heard the third carriage arrive. I rushed to the window. Below, stepping from the carriage was LordShiva who had made a special visit to London to meet with the Apolyton Irregulars. To grace the occasion he had opted to play Robert Stephens, whose portrayal of Sherlock, in the Private Life of, had garnered favourable reviews. On arrival, he spotted the others and immediately rushed to join them. A little behind was Nikolai who gauged that re-enacting Nicholas Rowe in ‘Young Sherlock Holmes’ would be different.

‘My Dear Boy, how could you be so single minded’ roared Rah as Peter O’ Toole His voice certainly carried authority.

The fourth carriage arrived at 19.15.
Nikolai arrived between the third and fourth carriages...
(as did rah, but heck, Nik it is. )

Considering the clues to 4 and the cut clue, I will have to go with Gillette as well since he was the fourth person on scene.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.
