    There is such a thing as a signal to noise ratio, and good sites pay close attention to that.

    Should we discuss my theory on why the Playstation 3 is bombing is directly related to Ken Kutaragi's anal fixation and obsession with cucumbers? Or should we stay in the realm of reality.

    Maybe the real reason the Wii isn't being produced en masse is because they use uranium in the chip, and if they produce too much of them it draws suspicion.

      So are you saying that anyone who doesn't believe that Nintendo was holding back Wii's for PR reasons is in the same category as someone who holds the above beliefs?

        No, as long as they make reasonable arguments they're not. I don't see UnOrthOdOx as being in the same category, for instance.

            This is disingenuous - you used the post I quoted to address a point that had been raised on the current topic of discussion (albeit rather obliquely), not some random diversion.

              The argument was there is no market segmentation in the Wii market. Which is unabashedly true. I don't even know where to begin to explain the fundamentals to you.

              There is NO reasonable way anyone can make the argument that limiting supply of the consoles is going to segment the market. Both groups in your example are equally affected by shortages. It's a retarded argument, quite simply.

                    Assume, with me, that they didnt have the ability to meet all their Sept-Dec demand. In that case, holding back their supply in Sept-mid-Nov and releasing it in the holiday season does NOT impact all groups equally.

                          That's correct. I don't see why it's that unreal to you, considering that I'm a North American so what's different is a bit odd to me. That the Spanish enjoy framerate-plagued game and the British enjoy terrible games in general, while Japanese gamers love CGI and non-game games is odd to me.
