To be honest, I haven't used alchemy in my current game, so I am just going on what I have read.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I'm not sure if it's from the Sea of Destiny or Silgrad Tower mod, but I've come across a huge city in MW - I guess it's about the size of Vivec, but on one(well two if you include the wooden platform level?) level. It's very sprawling and looks pretty good using the Morrowind fps optimizer(extends view distance).

Having that extended view was one of Oblivions big wins over MW. Using the MW fps tool you can get upto the max possible distance that Morrowind renders stuff at. I think it's about twice what you would normaly get in the game? Still it's better to come back 1 unit of distance(use the minus key on the numeric pad) to allow a bit of fog otherwise you will see the sharp edges of the world.

I know some people have been working on giving MW a huge view like in Oblivion:

At the momment it has some issues, but in the future it might get better? In the meantime the MW fps optimizer works perfectly and cuts out that claustrophobic feel you would get in MW.

I have a few questions regarding Oblivion I hope there are still some people left who play the game and can answer.

        1. Can I install Oblivion all official add-ons and Shivering Isles at once and start a new game? Will this cause any bugs?
        2. Do you know if the more popular mods like OOO are compatible with the add-ons like Shivering Isles for example?

Bugs? Not as such. However, most of the "class housing" add-ons has a vendor whose merchandise is leveled, with the level being determined by your level when the add-on is activated. If you install those at the start, then they activate while you're still in the sewers doing the prologue, so you'll be level 1 or 2 and the gear will be of that level permanently. I'd recommend leaving Thief's Den, Vile Lair, and Fighter's Stronghold out and installing them later as a result. There are no vendors in the Wizard's Tower, so you can install that at the start.

            1. Yes you can install all, no more bugs than usual, but I would recomend the Unofficial Oblivion patches. These I can recommend as they only fix errors and make no changes to gameplay.

Quarn's non-bugfix mods are also recommended. His mod philosophy seems to be of the fix annoyances with a simple solution. Like colour coding soul gems and a mod with adds and removes oblivion gate markers.

            2. Most of them are compatible. Francesco's adds changes specific to SI as well as the original world.

Ok since i finally gotz a kickass computer i am able to run Oblivion at the MAX settings with no lag whatsoever. couple things i hafta say...

first i really like the dymanic AI, very impressive. For example I was in Skingrad, just stepped into an inn to get some info about the city (just started the game not long ago.) All of a sudden this dude charges into the bar (a bosmer i think) and starts mercilesly beating the crap out of this orc for reasons i cannot explain. The Bosmer chased the orc all over the damn bar and eventually kills him (how a Bosmer kills an orc in a fistfight i also cannot explain.) THEN all of a sudden everyone in the bar starts ganging up on the Bosmer-aggressor including a town guard and a Mythic Dawn agent!. at this point i was just watching in awe but as soon as i saw the Mythic dawn chick i attacked and killed her. then helped everyone else kill the Bosmer. I got the message about the Dark Brotherhood watching me and then suddenly the Town Guard dude arrested me for murdering the Mythic Dawn chick. I spent 10 days in jail, and i was already a member of the Thieves guild at this point so i didnt mind, and i also had no stolen stuff on me at the time.

So when i get out of jail i raised a skill that was almost done and got the level up message. Since i am not a TES or an Oblivion n00b, i found a nearby camp where i rested and met with the Dark Brotherhood dude and joined the order. There was no turning back now.

Point is, if that barfight hadnt have broken out, completely by the AI's control i might not have commited murder and gone down the "evil" path, but then again my character is AAHZ, the original, so it would have happened sooner or later anyways.

I have hated on this game for a long time but the AI is very very good for an AI. The physics are good too.

MY brother loves STALKER and hates Oblivion, but I play both games on MAX graphics and I honestly think Oblivion has better physics and graphics. It is more fun too.

ALSO i am completely unable to take screenshots even AFTER editing my Oblivion.ini file and in game it says that i took the screenshot, but i cannot find it ANYWHERE on my computer. Is it Vista?

On my XP the screenshoots are saved directly inside the game's directory in bmp format

sorry for the necro, but i have a new character (a Healer)and i have a question for anybody who has beat the Mages Guild quest-line:

                  Spoiler:
                  Spoiler:
What purpose does having the apprentices follow you around do? I already had one bosmer chick follow me but she got killed fighting the first monster we encountered. They are incredibly weak compared to me (i am level 40ish i think.) Also do they respawn? If so i can see their use if i had all 6 of them follow me at once, if they die i just wait till respawnage. Still i see no purpose, i am a badass anyway.

                  also:

                  Spoiler:
that enchanted chest does not work. I put some ambrosia in there 1 week Game Time and it has not multiplied. That was an ingrediant from Cameron's Paradise that only restored health. is it only certain ingredients?

i could not find any answers on Bethesda'a boards and i will not register there just because i am already a member of too many forums as it is

any help is appreciated, im a little annoyed/curious.

I haven't finished the Mages Guild quest-line, but I can answer the second question. Its only certain ingredients, generally excluding the more rare types like Nirnroot. UESP has some good information about this.

Regarding the first question, if you can swing it so you have essential characters following you around, they can come in handy. ie: Have Martin follow you around before taking him from Kvatch to (spoiler) and he can never die! The obvious downside is that this prevents you from completing that quest line. There are probably better quests to try this exploit with though.

As a general update, my character started out as a heavy-armour sword fighter, but has since moved onto basically being a pure mage. I run around without armour and use summoned creatures and spells to kill enemies.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Ambrosia is on the list of things that do NOT work in the chest. Alas.

What Mods/patches should I use on it, so that is even somewhat enjoyable?

*EDIT* And if you list more than one - please let me know if they can be used together.

I use FCOM - it combines 4 major mods:
                            OOO
                            Mart's Monster Mod
                            Francesco's item mod
                            Warcry

                            I also use
                            Unofficial Oblivion Patch
                            Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch
                            Tamriel Travelers (adds traveling merchants)
                            A new interface mod
FCOM was hell to set up but maybe its better now, really any one of OOO/MMM/Francesco will radically improve the game.
