you are getting close to the end. Depending on if you want to finish up any quests from chapters 2 and 3 that are outstanding.

There is no time limit. Even if they say time is getting close.

Back to Amn, then to the Elven city, and then... I won't spoil it.

I finished up trademeet, and the three new areas that appear = forest of tethyr, north forest, and tooth pass.

Then went back to the graveyard to follow bodhi.

Improved invisibility plus turn undead is a very cool way to deal with vampires

Didnt work so well in the room with all the spikes. I kept reloading that - win a bunch, but also lose a lot of my party, some permanently, and never quite get everyone there.

But Im not sure I need to do that room, as I can go straight downstairs to where Bodhi is. I reloaded and did that instead.

Did bodhi once, unbuffed, and lost. Not sure the best way to deal with her.

You can get allies for the help with bodhi. The only bad thing is if they get the killing blow they will get the experience points for her and not you. It's significant, but not the end of the world if you don't get it.

If you remember the elves recommended places to get allies.

I'm not sure what they are. You can get drizzt and his cronies to help you if you have found him. You can get the paladins in the paladin palce in the temple to help you (if you've helped them with their quests iirc). Those are the 2 I usually get. There are a couple others iirc.

They crowd the hallway, but they are good meatshields. Just have them advance, and blast bodhi and her cronies with your cleric and mages.

As for the spike room, I'm not sure if it's necessary. I think you get a good item to improve the mace of disruption. Or you get the mace of disruption, which is a cool mace and you should be using it, even if your front line fighters have more specialization in swords. This mace is an undead killer.

I wouldn't move your entire party over the spikes. It's a lot of micromanagement. iirc, I just sent my best 2 warriors over them. One with the mace described above.

I met Drizzt on leaving the elven camp, but Im pretty sure I told him I didnt need his help.

I can go get the Paladins, and I understand that the Shadow thieves are available as well.

            That should help.

              Trouble with Bodhi

Ok, so I went in fully buffed, everyone in my party had neg plane AND anti-confusion/domination. I had the paladin and the shadow thief assasin along - made sure they got bless and haste along with the rest of my party. The allies arent THAT good, it takes them a bit to get around my party members, and they dont always attack whom I would choose for them to attack, but they are still a help. Finally managed to win the fight, but lost a party member permanently, so reloaded, and reset difficulty from core to normal, which doesnt really change anything, but means no permanent deaths of party members.

Won the fight again. But I didnt find the "lanthorn' (?) or Bodhis heart (or is it head?). Now I DID use disintegerate spells, but Im pretty sure I didnt kill Bodhi with one. But maybe I did. Are these things somewhere else? Or do I have to reload yet again and make sure to not use disintegrate on Bodhi?

I don't remember where it is. But I'd recommend not using disintigrate. Esp. against boss monsters that might have good drops.

if your remember where she died, you should be able to see if her body dropped something.

may want to check a faq to see where it is. It might be in another room. but I"m pretty sure it was on her.

You need to get some blood or something too. If you want Imoen back.

it was both. On her, AND in another room. IE I had to go the room next door and stake her first, and then I got both the heart and the lanthorn. Saw that in a walkthrough

gettin' pretty close. you did trademeet, which is kind of cool.

Did you kill the red dragon?

Usually about this time I finish up tough battles that I wasn't tough enough before. There aren't that many rewards, just the challenge of beating these battles. I wouldn't have known about them without the walkthrough.

There's this one building in the temple district with many baddies in it (there is a decent hard to find sword in there), another in the bridge district. In the sewers, there's a whole bunch of mind flayers (illithids).

Kill the red dragon if you have not.

And then on towards the elven city. Lots of golem killing. Hopefully you know how to kill them now. Very magic resistant, but often I'll use the spell to lower resistance. Or just have my fighters pound the hell out of them. There are a lot of them, which kind of makes it tedious. As you are so tough at this point. Another dragon to fight. Cheese tactics will work with this one. And you can opt out of fighting it I believe (costly though).

                        And then to...

I didnt go back to the red dragon - i just did trademeet and the new areas, and then headed for the elven city. Ive managed with the golems, and killed the tough guy who guards denim , rhalimat(?) Ive got two of the elvish items, and need to get the last from the black dragon. I suppose I could head back to the atkhala where ive left my dragon sword (or can I?) or I could try another way. Not sure what cheese tactics would work - I may try the dialog again to avoid the fight.

I find him easier than the red dragon. But that's mainly because I'm a higher level when I face him. The red dragon kicks my ass at least once every time I face him with a new party.

Cheese tactics are laying traps before you intiate combate. Buff yourself up obviously. And then attacking using the cursor before you intiate dialogue. You could maybe eve use a thief and sneak up and try to backstab.

Other tactics involve laying down cloudkills and moving far away. Not sure if this works with dragons. But it works with other things.

yeah skulltraps. forgot about those. . Combine those with regular thief traps, and you've already knocked off a bunch of hit points. You don't have Yoshimo at this point (he had really good traps), but Jan or Imoen can still set traps.
