$15 a month? If that is the price, MAYBE I can afford it. And considering that you can buy WoW for only $20 now, brand new . . . . .

compared to the buying price of Guild Wars and its two expansion paks ($150).

You don't need GW expansion backs to be fully functional.

Yeah, you kinda do. However, Prophecies (the original game) can be picked up for a few mere pennies now, and Factions will go that way as soon as Nightfall is out. I'd guess (and it's on the high side) you can get all games for $100 easily.

Just got WOW (already have GW and don't really play it). Got to watch some football tonight, so maybe I'll play tomorrow .

I'm thinking of a Night Elf Druid as my first character .

            Have fun!

I can go check it out myself, but does anyone know for sure if WoW's official website provides a free demo download of the game??

I've heard from alot of people that with Guild Wars, you get what you pay for.

My reccomendation would be to invest in a good pair of shoes.

                    Kick ass

I'm at Level 6 right now . And yeah, I did take a Night Elf Druid. Don't worry Spikey, I'll be patient . I didn't want to be a boring Paladin or Warrior. This is something a bit different. If I don't like it, well, I can always start over with a human character (I would, after all, be starting in an entirely different city) .

Just wondering, Imran. What server did you pick. Seeing that you have come into the game rather late (2 years after US release) that can have a huge bearing on your experience in the game.

On the older servers, almost all the action is centered around either end-game raid content or lvl 60 PvP. That means that there really aren't that many lower level players around, and as such you will find it hard to find players to group with. Furthermore, most of those lower level ppl there are, are alts of ppl with 60 mains, and they tend to want to group with either guildies or have a level 60 from their guild zip them through the lower level dungeons.

On the other hand, if you have chosen a recently opened server - perhaps even preferably one that is not eligible as destination realm for payed character transfers, you are in for a great experience So I am kinda curious as to what server you have chosen.

Me and my freinds are on Argent Dawn, Horde Side.

It does feel more empty then Shadowsong did (over a year ago).. but I mostly team with my freinds.

Unless i'm mistaken, wow is now free to start right?
You can download it, and ask somebody else to give you a cd key which will actually save them money too if you activate it.

Hmmm... not sure... just the only normal server available to me last night. The game suggested it. There were a bunch of lower level people doing the lower level quests. Don't know how many were alternates. One guy wanted to form a party with me, but I declined because I was just about finished with the spider cave quest and was going to head back.

It may be a recently opened server. I'll check next time I go online. I do have to say it was pretty fun, even as a solo RPG-ish experience. I played for like 4 hours last night (after 4 AM!!). I've explored a few places, died once after a mob got too close to me dealing with one of his friends and I had two to contend with.

I see when I go online again.

[q=DrSpike]Warriors and paladins need patience too. [/q]

Undoubtably . But they get to wear mail and above armor and get to use all sorts of weapons. I got (so far) staves and daggers. Though I got some magic stuff. So that's nice.

                                [q=Jon Miller]Taurens are better.[/q]

I felt like starting out with Alliance.
