    • With dedicated tracks and shared station platforms, I've found "hard routing" to be not signficantly more difficult than easy routing.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

      • Same here. As long as you're a good track planner, you won't have any more problem with hard routing than any of the others. I only played the normal routing twice before moving on to hard and I never noticed the difference, either.

          • I like the game so far.

              • Definitely give the demo a go. I love the game, but the RRT fans who can't get over the differences typically don't share my love.

                • First off thanks for a manual worth reading. learn while you play

I havent figured out how to get more than one train running efficiently on a double track yet. Its doesnt seem intuitive for me, although it is probably logical. Im sure I can reread Dales comments and it will all make sense

My gf enjoyed the game and could get up and running in with minimal help from me, a big in my book, although she struggled with the balance of the game on her first go (too many trains) which makes for a gentle enough learning curve when you dont have to fight the UI and can get stuck straight into the balance and strategy

It made us both smile that our 'home' town of Chelmsford was represented although the town should export chavs instead of passengers. Maybe something for the mod community

I have a bug where some of the track I lay doesnt appear until I reload, or build something else. Maybe thats planned to be fixed but I will try and figure out what triggers the bug.

All in all the game seems very polished, With an attention to detail and quality that I would expect. Time will tell if its deep and challenging enough to hold my attention

                  • The patch is going to be bringing some tougher AI, so I don't think the challenging portion will be much of a problem.

I'm still loving the game after a couple of weeks with it. Keep an eye out for me in multiplayer if you want a round with someone who won't quit if they're losing.

                    • I need to learn how, can someone tell me how to select a train on a certain track?

I build several tracks at a station and then build a new train and it goes to the first track..

I know this is probably easy but am trying to learn in between Life and all that is tugging on me

                      • Hmmm... A little more info for clarification? Are you just trying to get a train on a certain track from the start?

                          ok

city one has a track to city 2

Now..I build a new track alongside but dont want a new train on the first track but rather on the newer track

Exactly how do I make sure my second train operates on the new track versus the first track?

                          Hope I made myself clearer

                          • Yep. I've encountered this for the first time recently, too. For now, just give the tracks a connection to get the other train on the other track. The AI is a little fruity at times, so it might not behave just how you want it to, but it should be addressed in the first patch... -Fingers crossed-

                            • I am enjoying this game. However, don't you guys also think the map becomes cluttered really fast ?

Especially with more then 2 AI's on it ?

                              • That's a lot of people's complaint: the size of the map. I like it that way, though. The close proximity to each other allows people to steal away resources, and forces everyone to fight for map resources. While laying rails becomes almost a puzzle game in its own, while you try to fight for an affordable route that criss-crosses with the competition.

I think the best way to see how it works for the better is to play in multiplayer, which allows you to see how cutthroat the game can really be.
