At least KOTOR2 had somewhat better gameplay in some parts to make up for the much weaker story... I gather NWN2 doesn't have even that?

I like it. It adds atmosphere. You're in a flying city after all, so you can never forget it. Do you play a bridge module between SoU and HotU?
Any recommendations?"Stuie has the right idea" - Japher

Now that I'm home....
Shadohaunt
The guy just updated it, which is always a plus for me when the author remains active in the community.
Then again, I think I'll look through the other bridge modules and see what's out there.
Edit: Oh, I see Shadohaunt was the runner up, and it was really close. Guess I'll try it out this time."Stuie has the right idea" - Japher

Shadohaut was ok - seemed kind of confusing at first. No real direction as to what I was trying to accomplish. Once I figured that out, the whole thing seemed kind of linear. And the fights were down right easy - I can only think of one that I found challenging. Most of the time the only challenge was keeping Deekin alive, and even he was kicking some serious butt by the end. There were also some weird spawn triggers that made bad guys show up behind me when I was exiting an area; this happened in multiple locations which had more than one entrance/exit.
Nether Scrolls was definitely better."Stuie has the right idea" - Japher

When I was first choosing a bridging module, I remember the description of Shadowhaunt and the opinion of people about it had something ticking me off, so I chose Nether Scrolls. I just couldn't remember what it was... now that you mention it, the memories come back.
Nether Scrolls is a great module, I played through it twice and I bet the third time there will still be things to discover, that I missed in the first two runs.

It was also very Monty Hall. After treasuring a stinking "Sword of the Gladiator" (+2, 1d6 acid) through SoU because it was pretty much the best thing going for my character, all of the sudden I am weighed down with +4 Everythings. And this stuff is just lying around in chests.
Oh well; I'll stick with Nether Scrolls if/when I run through these again. For now, it's on to HotU with my Fighter/Thief killing machine."Stuie has the right idea" - Japher

Out of pure interest, how did you build your fighter/thief? Thuggish - i.e. plate/STR based - or Stealthy - leather/DEX based? It might be a dumb question, because you mentioned the Sword of the Gladiator, which is definitely not finesse-able and implies a thuggish build, but I'm asking it anyway.
Thuggish builds have the handicap, that DEX don't do you much good and you'll want to have more STR, on the other hand many of the rogue skills require DEX and some INT. This has the consequence, that many thugs only specialize in finding and disarming traps (both INT based - INT isn't plate unfriendly as some fighter feats need it), but don't open locks (DEX based) and bash open chests and doors instead. They're also not good stealthers, for the huge penalty their armor (and possibly shield) gets them.
