  • There's a nice belt to find in the SoU interlude, that gives Weapon Specialization (unarmed) as bonus feat. FTW!

    • I made a pure monk halfling for SoU/HotU. It's nice to be able to run through everything quickly and be nigh invulnerable.

      • A halfling monk? Haha, nice idea. 2 minuses though, reduced strength and hampered knockdown. But not that it would matter much.

        • Reduced size gives you better AC against the majority of HotU baddies though, and the extra DEX (I'm assuming it's a DEX, rather than STR, build) will mean that with monk AC, it'll be pretty much untouchable.

I wish somebody had told those dragons near the end of the original campaign about this. They had no trouble resisting my missile storms ...
Maybe 1 in 3 actually got through.

And that dragon-demon thingummy too - 3 attempts - all 'poof'.
Thankfully Abi Dalzims and Evards tentacles fixed them eventually.

(And yes I have only just finished the Original Campaign. What can I say - I'm slooowwww ... )

While missile storms don't allow classical resists (fortitude/reflex/will), a high spell resistance can help against them, as well as some protective spells, which however can be dispelled.

                  • Did anyone ever mention that NWN2 went gold? Well, it did. So it looks to be on target for release at the beginning of next month.

Meanwhile, I've played through "N1: Against the Cult of the Reptile God". That was an excellent module - reminded me of my PnP days years ago. Now I'm taking the same character through "Cormyrean Nights" which has also been excellent thus far - I love the cramped feel of the city streets. Next up after that is "Against the Giants"...

                            • Because of the success of the original and sound game system.

                              • Why the suspicion? The game is the hands of great developers. I heard that the main campaign is on the level of Planescape: torment and BG2. The only potential problem is the publisher, Atari.
