Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
It will be as great as NWN - if only because it has a toolset better than the first one. This game will live and live and live and, perhaps, die, on the player support, just as NWN did, and there are enough creative minds in the community already to guarantee a fantastic game, no matter how good the OC is.
<-Played hours and hours of NWN but never got past the tutorial of the OC and played SoU but breifly.

I bought the platinum edition a while back. I never really got to play it, because I had video card problems. Now, I'll get a new video card soon. I know that the OC is mediocre at best. What about the other two, Shadow of Undertide and Hordes of the underdark?

As we speak, some people are working on a Planescape trilogy for NWN2.

Having only just started SoU I've come to realise that the existence of a 'bridging module' for SoU didn't mean exactly what I thought it did.
This realisation struck as I was getting to the end of the first chapter.
In hindsight the deadly kobolds hurling themselves at my 16th level Sorcerer throughout much of it should really have tipped me off (Loved the 'master jumper' NPC though), or perhaps the fact that I started off as an apprentice, but it wasn't until very near the end after I K'O'd a white dragon (who's name I've unfortunately forgotten) by sneezing that I realised that this module wasn't really intended to follow on from the OC ...
SoU is intended and balanced for a fresh level 1 start. You're supposed to kill the dragon at about level 6. It is easy still, because his adversary (the sorceress J'Nah) gives you a device to help you kill him; just like vice versa too. I had my fun betraying the both of them. And the dragon's name is Tymofarrar, IIRC.
HotU is a successor of the SoU story and you should reuse your SoU character. If you start HotU fresh, you'll be leveled to 15 by script, if you use your SoU character or any other of at least level 12, it will be accepted without change.

The lack of decent mods for NWN2 has driven me back to the original, and I find I'm enjoying it more than 2. The graphics in 2 are nice and all, but combat just looks clunky for some reason; ruins the immersion.
So I went back to NWN and played a bunch of the more recently released/updated mods, and now I'm playing through SoU again. Fun, fun. I've discovered the joys of playing a Fighter/Thief (sorry - "Rogue" ). Lots of smack down plus sneakiness and UMD. Nothing like a trip to Dunkin Donuts to get the game going.

Oh, really?
Welcome to the club, finally.
NWN2 has a big potential, but Obsidian lacks the commitment of Bioware to make it shine. As a result, it seems to have not half the fan base NWN1 has. I didn't buy the expansion yet, and as it stands now, I am not going to buy it anytime soon.

NWN1 is awesome, and I'm doing nostalgy trips regularly.
