Update - we finally did get the new computer, 3 Ghz or so, 512 MB RAM. High end IG.
SC4 looks pretty, but from what Colon says, might not run too well even on these specs. And no real intense enthusiasm for the gameplay.
Sounds like SC3000 would be the best bet. I could buy that as part of the Simmania pack, which also includes Simgolf, and a couple of other things. Probably a good deal now.
I find I like to have around to play a couple of strat games, a simulation of some kind, and some game in "all other' (IE RPG/adventure/maybe FPS)
Since Im still playing EU2, am at an almost addicted phase with Victoria, have started HOI, and have gotten back to AOK, im not in the market for another strat game. And im not looking for another "all other" game till im done with MI4 (insult-wrestling, give me a break) so im really interested in a sim. RCT was worth it (considering what i paid for it) but ive put it aside - it really needs a full sand box mode - so i havent played any tycoon/sim game in while. Since we wont be getting the Sims soon (to avoid providing POTM another distraction from homework - she agrees on this) Id be looking for a citybuilder, and I think SC3000 sounds like just the ticket.
