Some notes on valid orders:
1. Default OoBs will be accepted (and are encouraged). Default orders are NOT.
2. Exact build orders must be given EACH ROUND. "I build as many X as I can" will not be accepted, nor will build queues.
3. It is your responsibility to figure out what you can legally build with the BP and home bases available to you. Illegal build orders will be ignored.
4. Ditto OoBs and other orders. The default OoB will be used in place of an illegal OoB (assuming defaults have been submitted). Otherwise it sucks to be you.~ If Tehben spits eggs at you, jump on them and throw them back. ~ Eventis ~ Eventis Dungeons & Dragons 6th Age Campaign: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4: (Unspeakable) Horror on the Hill ~

I have to say, the disparity between the members of this forum (and players of this game particularly) and the C4DG astound me.
In C4DG, I'm yelled at for suggesting perhaps there should be some sort of deadline for essentially UDWOTing, unless there's a full vote EACH TIME of all other teams. "Players should decide in-game who wins, not the mods."
Here, people seem to generally accept/support decisions of what is essentially the same position as mod to forbid perfectly reasonable methods of avoiding accidental UDWOTing... suggesting that here, people would rather have the mods (GMs) directly influence the outcome of the game, rather than the players.
Quite an interesting disparity between the two fora...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

In this case, Joncha, I'd really like an explanation for why build queues, default orders, and "build all laser cruisers" are not acceptable. I don't recall GMs refusing any of the above in the past, and all three are pretty reasonable requests, and certainly standard for every other forum game.
Queues can greatly simplify order processing, as they speed up the game by getting in a number of orders in ahead of time. They also allow players who have inconsistent access to the internet to play, enhancing and expanding the player pool.
Build all X is not complicated for the GM to understand, and perfectly reasonable for players, particularly newer players who may not understand the game as well as veterans. It takes NO additional work for the GM; either way the GM has to figure out X*3 or Y/3, only once...
Default orders, though, are the most inane to disallow. Why a default OOB and not default orders? Both have one and only one purpose: to ensure that a player has legal (orders/oob) to follow if the player cannot or does not submit orders in a timely fashion. That's the one and only reason for either one, and there is no rational justification for eliminating either. You're penalized enough simply because you are stuck with what may be inappropriate orders or OOB; why take the game out of the player's hands and penalize them further?<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
