    • Yeah, if that 500 post limit had anything of worth in it, Apolyton would be screwed with the picture thread in action.

Once you get access to the Arcane University, which isn't that bad. Just one quest per city for the mages guild, then you can enchant your non magical items.

You have to have soul gems filled with captured souls. You can buy empty or filled ones from most of alchemists that reside in the guild halls of various cities.

You can use any spell effect that you know. Meaning if you don't own any spells that can grant night eye or frost you cannot make items that do those things.

If you have any spells that grant feather you can enchant pieces of armor, rings that give a constant effect of feather meaning you can carry more.

Unfortunately the item creation is more restricted then in Morrowind for balance reasons I suppose. You can't make a constant effect item that restores fatigue on you all the time, or restores health constantly. I'm uncertain that you can even make items that give magic resistance or that can absorb magic despite there being pre-existing items that can do it if you are lucky enough to find them.

My higher level character kept having the crap beat out of him in most battles so I enhanced his armor to give a constant effect shield bonus per the alteration spell. With all the armor he has about a 40% shield bonus all the time. Add a spell to that and I can get 60% or more along with the dragon skin power of the Bretons.

I miss levitation, fly and jump spells from Morrowind as well as the teleportation spells. For an open-ended game they really put forth restrictions to prevent the game from being as easy as Morrowind. Oblivion all ready has tougher monsters and scaling system. I don't see the point of these restrictions in a single player game such as this. Hopefully there will be a mod soon that incorporates them.

            • That should be the links for the 2 LOD mods (the actual LOD texture one, and the "shadow" texture one) Not sure if you can click them directly, though, no idea...

I've saved them because my armor skill is not at Journeyman yet (meaning I can repair magical items, only regular ones).

I've found that having a 50 armorer skill is a must if you wear any kind of armor. Not just to repair magical items but later in the game my armor gets shredded after a few fights. The armor almost isn't worth having if you cannot repair it yourself at the later stages

And Imran what the heck does your sig mean about Harry Potters arse, if anything...

                              • Just out of curiosity, if you put off the main quest for a while, do events in the main storyline go on otherwise? For example, will other towns get destroyed by Oblivion Gates if I do a bunch of mage's guild and thief's guild stuff instead of going to Green Emperor Way at noon?
