I was, IIRC, a 9 when I went through Kvatch, and I got my ass beaten repeatedly.
I'm having fun exploring some of the old Ayelid ruins, when I don't get pounded by zombies and those goddamned Will o' Wisps. No idea how to deal with those things at all."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

I presume that at lower levels, the NPCs are more useful? I wonder how they scale (if at all) ... at level 19 or whatever, they all just died right away.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

With my last character, my tactic was sneak up behind them and whack them with Umbra. No more wisp. I haven't met any yet with my spellsword, as he's still too low in level.

When I did it at level 24, one of the Kvatch guards died between the chapel and the castle gate, while everyone else died in the undercroft. I had to solo the rest of the city. The two remaining Kvatch guards died quickly inside the castle gate, and the captain spent most of that battle unconscious, so I pretty much had to solo the castle as well.Last edited by Quillan; April 6, 2006, 01:16.Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.

Before I 'aquired' my new armor I came accross something equally usefull if not more so...
Spoiler:
I found an obolisk I had not visited before. It was an obolisk dedicated to The Tower, one of the birth signs. I clicked on it and accepted. At first I thought it might replace my Atronach sign, but it did not. It did however grant two things. Once a day ability to open HARD locks in a 15' radius and another once a day ability that granted 20 points to the armorer skill.
The blue mark is where you can find it, on the small island. It will grant what I described only at night.
...and thats how my Orc slept with the Elf.
Here a link to the location for the spoiler:
I was jokeing about the Elf.

Lol I've just finished the main game at level 47 and I still hadn't done anything with those sigil stones. I'll know better next time
I left the thieves and assassins missions for a different character but I think I did everything else. Great fun.To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

[q=Guynemer]Just out of curiosity, if you put off the main quest for a while, do events in the main storyline go on otherwise? For example, will other towns get destroyed by Oblivion Gates if I do a bunch of mage's guild and thief's guild stuff instead of going to Green Emperor Way at noon?[/q]
No. Otherwise that would deep-six the quests in these other towns. Though there are PLENTY of Oblivion Gates around. I have 3 I have to do around the Leyawiin area (when I come back to it... I want to go to Anvil to get that recommendation so I can get into Arcane University first).

Yes... when I did Kvatch at lvl 3, most of the guards survived until close to the end. At higher levels I hear that guards die very early. The guards at Kvatch should scale with your level... that's an error in the coding there.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
