Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I tried that as a level 1, just to try it out. I was dead in no time, those pesky firebolt sending monsters didn't like me for some reason.

I have discovered that 'Feather' spells of different names stack. For instance if you cast Ease Burden on yourself then recast Ease Burden all that does is reset the timer for that spell. However if you case Ease Burden, then Lighten Load - Feather Spells of different names then their effects stack. Includeing spells that you create yourself. So in theory you could create numerous Feather Spells that last 120 seconds with 100 strength each with different names and get them to stack.
This would make it easier to loot dungeons in one swoop. The obvious draw back is that you have to keep the spells going once you get more and more loot. I havn't yet decided what to do with this information.
Earlier I had assumed that the spells wouldn't stack only the one that is the more powerfull would be in effect but this does not appear to be the case. I wouldn't be surprised if this were addressed in a patch. This seems like an exploit to me.
Edit:
Ok it appears that multiple spells do not fully stack, some stack part of the way then others no longer stack. Still you can get more out of multiple feather spells then just one. It is kind of odd.
Depends on the items and how broke I am. Usually I just put valuable items in the closest container/corpse near the dungeon exit during periods I need to regen magicka. For me its easier then decideing on what to drop later and it makes one or two trips back to the dungeon faster because all the loot is in one spot.
I stopped playing long enough to log on here and make two comments:
1) For anyone playing on computer, if you don't have a full gig+ of memory, then beg/borrow/steal to get the money to upgrade. I just got my replacement stick of memory in today, and it makes a HUGE different in performance. I just finished running through the Battle for Castle Kvatch part, without a hitch, hiccup or stutter. That would have been totally unplayable with only 512 megs of ram.
2) The Battle for Castle Kvatch is F'ING HARD if you wait until level 24 to do it! Spider daedra, storm atronachs, xivilai and the odd dremora coming out of the woodwork!
Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.
I was off on the Exploit I mentioned earlier, so I edited that post.
Quillan, my memory upgrade should be here tomorrow. I ordered it Thursday. I hope it improves Oblivion and Civ 4. Although I'm running with a 1 gig now Marathon games in Civ are still a problem. This time tomorrow I should be running 2.5 gig.
Oh lordie... the XBox 360 hate is getting really bad on the official forums now! Now they are claiming that Microsoft made Bethesda purposely cripple the graphics (no high res textures for long distance graphics) so that the 360 would look just as good as the PC version (when it was likely because so it'd run on the greatest variety of PC's and they didn't want to make a number of textures simply for long distance)!
As much as we want to say capitalism is wonderful, there are some pretty ugly, deceitful and sneaky sides to it. The companies will never say it to your face, but you cannot trust a greedy monopoly that`s filled with lawyers and marketing men who`re waiting to rip you off anywya they wish.
Bethesda got in bed with the devil metaphorically and I believe if they hadn`t Oblivion would be quite different in gameplay and openendedness.

I need breaks. You should as well. Get some sleep one of these days .

Out of pure interest I'm replaying the closing of the Kvatch gate and the battle of Kvatch with a new character (level 3) now. So far despite being a bit harder than the normal part of the game, it is MUCH easier than what I faced at level 15. Meaning, over the same level range my opponents gained much more power than myself. This means, that the balance of the level scaling is seriously out of order. If you severely hurt your character's combat abilities by taking levels in sneak or speechcraft, there's no point in doing so. This makes the game a bit poorer, if it's not fixed.
Oh, and by the way, "retrying until you succeed" is as much of a cheat as toning down the difficulty slider is, because it is equivalent to rethrowing your dice until you get a six and win. The same is true for such tactics like hit and run, or hit and zone out. The latter are nothing more than exploiting the AI, who does not follow you despite that it could. If you have to resort to tactics like this in order to proceed in a game, it is poorly balanced. You should always have a chance to win in straightforward combat, or at least sneak, snipe and finish melee, but not this.
if you level it up on fighting, fighting quickly becomes way too easy.... (like everything is cake), if you don't level up on fighting at all, fighting becomes way hard...
it is up to how uo play the game, and how yuo play the game will be different than someone else (who will find it very easy..)

Ah, yes. Isn't that what I said? The game's message reads like this:
You DON'T take levels in smithing, or your character's combat abilities will irreparably suffer, because monsters don't smith.
You DON'T take levels in trade, or your character's combat abilities will irreparably suffer, because monsters don't trade.
You DON'T take levels in speechcraft, or your character's combat abilities will irreparably suffer, because monsters don't talk.
Etc. etc.
I can proceed in this game without skills like these. I can have my armor fixed by a professional. I will have to pay a bit more without trading skills. I will be not as convincing without speechcraft. But I still can play. But I can't proceed without combat, because I am constantly ambushed where ever I move - which is good because it is pretty much the point of the game.
If it is like you say, skills like those I mentioned would just be deceptions for the stupid. Which would be sad.
