Yep... and it is very detailed in that area of the world indeed . I like finding all the small parts of an area. I'm sure a lot will be done in the Imperial City for instance.

      • Btw, I think I'm sticking with HDR. I tried Bloom and AA, and while it may have had a tiny increase in quality, I missed the lighting features of HDR too much. HDR really is amazing in that aspect. Looking at stain glass windows with HDR is a treat as well .

Thankfully the Xbox 360 version doesn't make you choose between HDR and AA.

                  • Has anyone used this D2D stuff before? Are there restrictions placed upon you? Like, can you install on more than 1 machine? Or, if I want to reinstall it two years from now, can I?

Stardock handles all this very well. Not sure I trust IGN though...

                    • Would someone do me a favour and post a screenshot taken at low graphics settings? All the marketing shots are obviously on high-highest settings, and I can't find low-quality anywhere.

                      • Btw, I have been reading the TES Official forums (mainly to find out if people think HDR or Bloom & 4xAA is better), and, man, there are more people there complaining about an unfinished game than there were for CivIV!

Guess you can't please all the people all of the time. TES is known for pushing the limits of exisiting computer technology. C'est la vie.

Though I'm running at 25-30 fps outdoors, which a lot of people are *****ing about in the official forums, yet doesn't bother me in the slightest (haven't experienced any lag except when loading areas). I guess it is just what you want to deal with. I don't want to tone down the resolution for more fps... they work good enough for me.

                          • I imagine this question has been asked before, but will Oblivion play better on XBox360 or a 1-year old "gamer" PC? I should say that I do not need bleeding edge graphics (I'm happy to turn down view distance and other depths of special effects, like elaborate sun shading, etc.). I also prefer a keyboard and mouse, though I watched Kasavin's marathon highlights, and his play on the XBox360 looked smooth enough.

However, if my 1-year old gamer PC (I forget the specs, but they were top notch a year ago) will chug on all but the ugliest settings, I think I'll get the XBox360 for myself, give the XBox to my young daughters (so they can play Barbie Horse Adventure...no sick jokes, please), and keep the PC for strategy games like GalCiv2 and Civ4 (and Internet).

Thoughts? Oh, I'll also need to buy a new flat panel if I get the XBox360, so we're talking some serious money here.

                            • Imran, just ignore the whiners. These days, thanks to the Internet being so widespread and the forums so popular, there will be many people whining about any game, no matter what it is.

Look at the 2nd post for a comprehensive look at video cards and how they can run the game.
