Imperial Conditioning
Paddyshah Emperor left his bases to pay Min Grah a little surprise visit. To make sure Min Grah would not resist, the Emperor sent him a direct order invoking Grah's Imperial Conditioning. But what he did not know was that Zol Ventis had been scheming with General Ordin and Reverend Banobi all the time and that Zol's agents had broken Min Grah's Imperial Conditioning.
Basileus Naviwinat attacks! Min Grah
The Emperor with his mighty fleet expecting an easy takeover was in for a surprise as he collided with the energy shield erected by Min Grah around his colonies. A total of 18 hit points were lost (6 carrier frigates) and the Emperor was forced to withdraw. News of the capture of his Winter Palace by a young revolutionary Kit Chuss came to the Emperor and he decided to wait for a while before going some place else to find a safe haven for himself. He was sure now of only two things: Zol Ventis had betrayed him and he had very few friends left. Such is the fate of rulers, particularly those that rule as long as Paddyshah Basileus Naviwinat.

And I still attack Eventis members in any FG I get a chance to (I just try not to attack Eventis members who are also Og&me players). This isn't due to any particular ill will towards the members, just that I feel that their unwritten alliance in these games is too strong to go unopposed. I think DrSpike quit playing most forum games as he knew he was a quick target to the Evilentis Alliance in every game.
Anyhow, like I said to those that attacked (aka the three posters immediately above me in this thread), it is good to go down to an allied attack, though I have to wonder what would have happened if I had shielded (I said in my PM to Ljube that I knew that I was taking a big chance not shielding).

DrSpike quit before I joined FGs. His reasons are his own, but I think they have little to do with the alliance that won GO VIII. His last GO game was VII."You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. Your favorite team, in any sport, is the one that just won. Oh, and when you have more bases than anyone else, there's always a chance that a big group will gang up on you, and that chance is present every turn. You just got unlucky in guessing which turn people would actually do it."You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. Your favorite team, in any sport, is the one that just won.
