There aren't that many, it's just that they are enough to wreck PvP for low level players. The game was originally designed to discourage high level players from going to lowbie zones and PKing by instituting "dishonorable kills", but Blizzard deemed that solution exploitable.

It's a shame because it leads to less competitive world PvP at lower levels because people will either be hiding from gankers or have their high level friends babysitting them. Even then, most of the good players will be grinding honor in BGs, so good luck in trying to find a decent fight.

PvP in WoW is really good in Arathi Basin from levels 30-59. It's relatively open and I have had some wonderful scraps. Before level 30 the games tend to be dominated by twinks because Blizzard hasn't had the wit to restrict end game enchants to high level items, and at level 60 the difference in power (due to equipment) between those who raid and those who don't effectively removes competition.

Well, WoW is purchased (along with new drive that I just finished installing).

So, i'm off to see what all this **** is about.
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

ok, i've played it a bit. Interesting, but a question about combat: is it all about movement? Once combat is initiated, it seems all you can do is move around to influence it.

Well you can select what skills to use, based on what you are fighting has. However, you need to level a bit first or you will just be using the same ones.

Fighting mobs is about standing there and whacking them, unless you are a ranged class. The idea is then to keep them at a distance while you take them down (if you are a hunter, you let your pet fight them while you blast them)..

Fighting other players is about who has the lowest latencies, the best equipment and the best macros. There is very little skill involved.

If you are fighting other players in melee, use the mouse to move. The keyboard doesn't give you a high enough turn rate to catch someone who is using the mouse.

Anyway, I cancelled my account until they fix the servers.

well, i'm enjoying the game ALOT. I have been very surprised by the people i've encountered. I expected alot of childish non sense, but to my surprise most have been very helpful. (Maybe i've just been lucky so far)

Mostly I like to go it alone, but I have grouped with a couple of others at this point to finish a quest, but he/she was great. I even had a person stick around to help me finish a quest even though they had already gotten their quest required kills etc.. and didn't need to waste their time.

I realize that later on at higher levels, things may be different.

anyway, i'm enjoying it so far. Especially the gryphon ride.

i'm on a normal PvE server as an alliance player.

oh, although i did group with 2 people who, while I was getting beaten down by a monster, swiftly decided to say "f-you i'm outta here!'...nice

Hehe been on both sides of that one. However, I think running is justified when you say 'don't attack that', and they............attack it.

So far. After the umpteenth trip between Stormwind and Ironforge, I've taken to Alt+Tabing out and reading Slashdot while in transit.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

I can imagine, I guess i'm still in the newbie phase. But overall it has an appeal to me.

World of Warcraft is so easy that even a moron can level to 60 - and they do. In great quantities. I'd say that 90% of the people that my 60 Warlock encountered did not want to learn to play.
Being that the community consists mostly of idiots, the community rejects people who hate idiots - like myself.
The result is that it becomes mostly a solo game, because I can't for the life of me find a guild without idiots that wants to recruit a known elitist.
As such, I'd say I've finished the game - having soloed up to 60 and gotten the best loot I could pre-MC.

Guild Wars doesn't suffer from skill-less morons as much as WoW does after you Ascend in the Desert. It does, however, have kiddies that have not developed the mental faculty to differentiate between Trade and Chat, nor how to give or follow orders.
Managing my own clan became quite problematic, as it was a tedious effort to sift through all the **** players until I found some that could follow orders, learn to play, and who had a basic knowledge of English.

Tomorrow, I am buying Everquest 2.
I expect to be the most hated person on the server within a month, and so long as I'm not the only one who hates and is hated by n00bs, I expect that I will enjoy it.

Good to hear that you like the game vee

Here are a few screenshots to show you what you have got to look forward to, if you continue playing for a long time.

After being in a small national guild all the way up to lvl 60, I decided that I would seek a larger, more well structured guild, to be able to experience some of the high-lvl raid content.

Here is a screenshot of my first Molten Core experience:

I got into that guild at a time, when they had just broken with two other guilds that they had been doing MC with, as part of an alliance. Our guild - Vikings of Midgård - continued to raid Molten Core alone, and not long after, we were ready to face Onyxia. We got her on our third attempt:

Some time after that (just before Xmas) we got a lot of new members to the guild. We had been having problems getting everyone that wanted to go to MC in, because there can be only 40 ppl in a raid, but every night something like 60 ppl wanted to go. So with the new members, we could run two simultaneous MC groups. I was chosen as Main Tank for that second force

We didn't expect to progress too fast, because: 1) We didn't really know the skills of our new members - and - 2) Most of us in the second force weren't too well equipped.

But lo and behold. After only 2 weeks of raiding, we had already down the first 6 bosses in the Molten Core. Here are some screenshots:
