  • One more question:
1.Does Laser/Weapon/Ion/Plasma techonolgy adds to lower-level installation weapon strenght (say L2 is needed for Small Lasers, but L3 gives their weapons +10%)?

      Probably it's bottom up.
At least that is how it works with the engines: Hyperspace engine 4 is required for battleships, and gives the a 4*30%=120% speed increase right when you build them.

      • Wow!

How big is the weapon(laser etc) tech bonus percentage per level, or where can I find it?

Therefore I have inactives that I go through hitting in cycles. (40 solar systems x 8 planets = 240 solar systems = a lot of iI's ).

I do agree with you that a number of them have dried up recently in our area of Galaxy 3 (inactives being inactive for too long and being deleted ).

I assume you are scanning the same planets in Galaxy 3 that I am, not sure which ones might be noob to me and not to you, and which ones are red to you and available to me however. Would be good to compare notes/scans or screenshots to see if we can't help each other out (or at the very least not trip each other up ).

I actually have yet to raid much - I guess I'm a traditional civ player, it's the building and research that I've been focusing on. My income is supplemented primarily by harvesting.

I haven't scanned in a while, but I think I'll do so now - I have 3 planets, all fairly close (but not in the same system), to facilitate the fast movement of resorces back to my homeworld.

I don't think so, and as speedsim doesn't take these techs into account I don't think it does either. Further, I have searched for the answer to this question (not becuase you asked but in the last few weeks because I wanted to know too) and haven't found anything to indicate that higher levels have any effect on defenses. Therefore I have maxed out my Laser tech at 10, my Ion tech at 5 and will max my Plasma tech at 7 and I have no intention of increasing any of them any more than that unless I find out otherwise (no value in increasing them).

There's no needed info, I already know it out of my head (the 'technology' table)..

                      • I'm under the impression that the "weapons" tech increases the weapon levels of those defenses, as well as ships - it is only neccessary to research techs like ion, laser, etc. to meet prerequisites.
