  • I read somewhere that it was suggested you have at least a level 4 Nanite Factory on a planet (not your home planet) before attempting to research Graviton. The logic was that by building your Solar Sats up that much you would attract attention as you fleet would quickly climb through the charts, so by not being on your home planet it would be harder to find and also that with a level 4 nanite factory (which alone costs 8 million metal, 4 million Crystal and 800 000 Deut) you would be able to construct the necessary solar sats in about 1 days time and thus get your graviton before anyone has a chance to crash your massive potential debris field planet for the solar stats and the resulting debris. It also was suggested that you get friends or allies to crash the planet after getting Graviton so that the resources could be harvested back.

No matter what, seems like a ways off for anyone else, I would guess it is still a ways off for you as well.

Though if you get anywhere close, please let me know, I would be pleased to work out a trade that would benifit your attempt (I would gift it even but as you are likely to still be far ahead of me then I doubt think a gift would be a good idea ).

    • I think I was reading the same threads as you. I would need 8502 sats on my homebase to do get the required energy. Actually, one of my colonies would be better. 8054 sats, plus it isn't in the first 3 galaxies.

Still, its a very long way away. I don't have much defences there either and it gets probed fairly often.

4 min 21 sec for each solar sat at the moment. Somehow, I don't think that is going to cut it.

I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

          • The best bet is to check his technology and see what that corresponds to.
I was not referring to any particular person.
It's just by the end of the day I'll prob have score of 0.5k, thus the biggest pal who can hit me is 1.5k, so I'd like to know what big is the fleet and ships at 1.5k per avg.

            • if I had cruisers at 1.5k then I would have had very few of them. I still think someone could come at you with a sizable force of L or H fighters though

WRT the death star, I think it would be a bit strange if we could not contribute to someone building a death star, even if they are higher points than ourselves. I dont know what the rule was exactly but it was something about not being able to give to someone who had higher points without getting something in return. But what we get in return is a death star in our alliance......

              • I'd clear it with the GM first before we tried it. It'll take ages to get to though. At least I can prep the planet though. With another colony having a high amount of labs as well as my home, it looks like I'll need IRN 2 before I can even think about researching it. That and saving up enough crystal and deuterium for over 8000 sats.

Okay, I'll build a bunch of Small Lasers then, they're at least double as cost effective as LF, not even mentioning the 70% repair chance.

I read in the forums about two things:
1.HF(ighters) are rarely used - most people seem to use LF for fodder and BB as the main force. Can anyone confirm I don't have to fear HF?
2.FL(asers) are not as cost effective as SL (they say SL is the 'biggest bang for the buck'), is it true in your viewpoint?

                  • SL are the best weapons to get early on. Cruisers have rapid fire against ML whereas only high-level ships have rapid fire against SL. A few HL (heavy lasers, I presume you mean) are good to boost your defence rating but nothing beats SL for fodder.

                    • Okay, I'll build a couple to proctect me over the course of weekend, thanks Skanky!

Also, it seems now that I will be able to dispatch 10k deut to someone who needs it (I don't see how I could waste it in following 6 hours).

                      • Also - my production values are now
                        Code:
                        1149 763 473
How can I calculate how much of them there will be in 72h if I assume my current stock is 0?

                        • That is production per hour. To calculate 72 hours worth, just times each by 72.
Of course, that assumes you don't get raided. Even if you do though, it is better than just stopping production.

                            • Can one stack the 'send' orders for defense and shipyard?
E.g. I order a bunch of things, then a bunch of something else and when the first ones are built, the second ones get into production.

                              • Once you get a few cargo ships, fleetsaving is a far better deterrent than a mountain of small lasers - and much cheaper. The best way to "win" is to make yourself a bad target - nobody will raid you if you're not worth it.
